The Seed Within You: The Base Church
Introduction: The Seed Within You
Salvation is often portrayed as Christ being the seed of life sown in us to grow within us. Adherents to the New Apostolic Reformation and the Manifestation of the Sons of God who believe this also promote the idea that the Kingdom of God is within us and is, therefore, spreading throughout the world with every person who gets saved. Is this biblical? This article aims to prove that it is not and hitherto is leading multitudes of people astray.
I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (2 Timothy 4:1-4).
The NAR (New Apostolic Reformation) and its various sidekicks (The Third Wave, Latter Rain, The Manifest Sons of God, Contemplative Spirituality, Mysticism, Emergent Church, Emergent Christianity, Quantum Spirituality, Quantum Eschatology, The Science of Mind, Neuroplasticity, Human Potential, Word of Faith Movement, Signs and Wonders Movement, Kingdom Dominionism, Freemasonry, and the Spiritualization of Science) have become so firmly intertwined that it is just about impossible to mark out the differences between them.
Who, for instance, would have thought that the staunch Emergent Church icon Leonard Sweet, the author of “Quantum Spirituality” and co-author with Frank Viola of “The Jesus Manifesto” would have any links with the NAR? In The Other Side of Emergent: The New Apostolic Reformation the Research team at Herescope exposed their unholy association:
Sweet and Viola’s book, Jesus Manifesto, is subtitled “Restoring the Supremacy and Sovereignty of Jesus Christ,” and it pushes the envelope on redefining Jesus, including “You can be a Jesus Manifest.” A quick glance at the lineup of key endorsers for this book includes a list of who’s who in Emergent, the Latter Rain cult, neo-evangelicalism and the New Apostolic Reformation.
In recent posts on this blog we have noticed that emerging church leader Leonard Sweet has links to the NAR. The co-author of his book, Frank Viola, also has roots in the NAR. He has been connected with the House2House group, a movement that is ostensibly about “house” churches, but in reality is concerned with building the networking apostolic cellular model of church for the purpose of building the kingdom of God on earth. This is the same Dominionist goal that is characteristic of the NAR: “This amazing network of churches is rapidly transitioning as a network to embrace the simple church models that the Lord is blessing all around the world,” leading to the “transforming work of God in bringing people to Christ. . . leading to dramatic advances of the Kingdom of God.” John Arnott of the Toronto “Laughing Revival” has been a notable contributor to the House2House magazine. Revamping the Kingdom of God
Some of you may think that the title of this article “The Seed Within You” is a bit off track and does not fit in with the general outline of the NAR and all the other movements mentioned above. Nonetheless, during the years of my research into the traits of the end-time apostasy, I have often listened to several online sermons by local and foreign preachers that seem to be thoroughly biblical but prove to be doctrines of demons when the Berean aptitude to test all things (1 Thessalonians 5:21) starts to kick in.
To illustrate my assertion, I have decided to home in on a sermon I recently heard online called “Growing Your Potential as an Overcomer” by Pastor Jannes Labuschagne of The Base Church in Muldersfrift, the West Rand in sunny South Africa. Before we analyze his sermon under the strict scrutiny of God’s Word, I first need to remind our readers what we are dealing with in this dangerous cacophony of the end-time apostasy which the Bible enumerates in 2 Timothy 4:1-4. Satan’s main or core strategy is not to change or replace the Gospel message with something else but to present it as it stands, quoting it word for word from Scripture, and then to superimpose onto it his own kingdom dominionist agenda. By the way, this is precisely what comes to the fore in Jannes Labuschagne’s sermon which we shall analyze in more detail later.
Why is Satan so eager to usher in the Kingdom of God prematurely? I use the word “prematurely” to emphasize the fact that he is not against the concept of the Kingdom of God on earth. Had he been openly antagonistic to it, he would not have been able to deceive most professing Christians. He is a mastermind in deception and knows that the success of his stratagem to present his own kingdom in the place of God’s Kingdom on earth, is dependent on his ability to copy the original and present it as the real McCoy without detection. Consequently, he must raise up someone who is in the place of Christ in order to be against Him. Hence the meaning of Antichrist – “in the place of” and “against.” Jesus Christ said, “I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name [referring to Antichrist], him ye will receive. (John 5:43).
One of the most amazing things about the Dominionist or Kingdom-now paradigm is that the Roman Catholic Church, Mother Teresa and Alice Bailey (together with her spirit guide/demon, Djwal Khul) have had a tremendous influence on its development in the church. Here are a few quotes from Alice Bailey’s books which were inspired by the demon Djwhal Khul to demonstrate how eager Satan is to usher in the Kingdom of God on earth – prematurely.
The Kingdom of God on Earth from the work of the Tibetan (Djwhal Khul), through Alice A. Bailey
Alice Bailey wrote:
It is of importance that you realize that today something new is happening. There is the emergence of a new kingdom in nature, the fifth kingdom; this is the Kingdom of God on earth or the kingdom of souls.
It is precipitating on earth and will be composed of those who are becoming group-conscious, and who can work in group formation. This will be possible because people will have achieved a self-initiated perfection (even if relative in nature) and will be identified with certain group expansions in consciousness. It will also be because they have arrived at love of their fellow men, just as they have loved themselves in the past. Think on this with clarity, my brothers, and grasp if you can, the full significance of this last sentence.
Their work will largely be to summarize and make effective the work of those two great Sons of God, the Buddha and the Christ. As you know, One of them brought illumination to the world and embodied the principle of Wisdom— the Other brought love to the world and embodied in himself the principle of Love.
How can the effectiveness of Their work be brought about?
The process will follow three lines:
1) Individual effort, made by the individual disciple, using the technique of detachment, of dispassion, and discrimination, which the Buddha taught.
2) initiation, made possible by the self-initiated effort of individual disciples, following out the injunctions of the Christ and leading to a complete subordination of the personality and of the unit to the group interest and group good.
3) Group endeavor carried forward as a group, to love all beings and to apprehend and understand the true significance of the Aquarian technique of group love and work. (1-3/4)
Christ taught that the Kingdom of God was on Earth and told us to seek that Kingdom first and let all other things be of secondary importance for its sake
That Kingdom has ever been with us, composed of all those who down the ages, have sought spiritual goals, liberated themselves from the limitations of the physical body, emotional controls and the obstructive mind. Its citizens are those who today (unknown to the majority) live in physical bodies, work for the welfare of humanity, use love instead of emotion as their general technique, and compose that great body of “illumined Minds” which guides the destiny of the world.
The Kingdom of God is not something which will descend on Earth when man is good enough! It is something which is functioning efficiently today and demanding recognition. It is an organized body which is already evoking recognition from those who do seek first the Kingdom of God, and discover thereby that the Kingdom they seek is already here. Christ and His disciples are known to be physically present on Earth, and the Kingdom which they rule, with its laws and modes of activity, is familiar to many and has been throughout the centuries.
Christ is the world Healer and Savior. He works because He is the embodied soul of all Reality. He works today, as He worked in Palestine two thousand years ago, through groups. There He worked through the three beloved disciples, through the twelve apostles, through the chosen seventy and the interested five hundred.
Now He works through His Masters and Their groups, and thereby greatly intensifies His efforts. He can and will work through all groups just insofar as they fit themselves for planned service, for the distribution of love, and come into conscious alignment with the great potency of the inner groups.
Those groups who have always proclaimed the physical Presence of the Christ, have so distorted the teaching by dogmatic assertions on unimportant details and by ridiculous claims that they have evoked little recognition of the underlying truth, nor have they portrayed a kingdom which is attractive. That Kingdom exists, but it is not a place of disciplines or golden harps, peopled by unintelligent fanatics, but a field of service and a place where every man has full scope for the exercise of his divinity in human service. Discipleship in the New Age, Vol. I
‘The Reappearance of the Christ’
These quotations can also be found in the compilation: ‘Serving Humanity’ (quotations from several books by the Tibetan) on pages 476-77).
In her book “From Bethlehem to Calvary, Chapter Five, The Fourth Initiation, The Crucifixion” she writes:
It is time that the church woke up to its true mission, which is to materialize the kingdom of God on earth, today, here and now . . . People are no longer interested in a possible heavenly state or a probable hell. They need to learn that the kingdom is here, and must express itself on earth . . . The way into that kingdom is the way that Christ trod. It involves the sacrifice of the personal self for the good of the world, and the service of humanity . . .“
The kingdom and the service!
“We must grasp this; we must realize that we shall find release only in the service of the kingdom. We have been held too long by the dogmas of the past, and there is today a natural revolt against the idea of individual salvation through the blood sacrifice of Christ. ‘It is essential that today we face the problem of the relation of Christ to the modern world, and dare to see the truth, without any theological bias . . . It is quite possible that Christ is far more inclusive than we have been led to believe’ We have preached a God of love and have spread a doctrine of hate. We have taught that Christ died to save the world and have endeavored to show that only believers could be saved . . . But Christ founded a kingdom on earth, wherein all God’s children would have equal opportunity of expressing themselves as sons of the Father. This, many Christians find impossible to accept . . .” Individual salvation is surely selfish in its interest and its origin. We must serve in order to be saved, and only can we serve intelligently if we believe in the divinity of all men and also in Christ’s outstanding service to the race. The kingdom is a kingdom of servers, for every saved soul must without compromise join the ranks of those who ceaselessly serve their fellow men.” (Emphasis added).
Mother Teresa was an excellent acolyte of Alice Bailey’s teachings and many professing Christians hold her in high esteem for her work among the poor and destitute in Calcutta, India. One of her famous mottos expresses to perfection Alice Baileys demonically inspired teachings. She once said:
“I love all religions, but I am in love with my own. If people become better Hindus, better Muslims, better Buddhists by our acts of love, then there is something else growing there.” And another occasion: “There is only one God and He is God to all; therefore, it is important that everyone is seen as equal before God.
I’ve always said we should help a Hindu become a better Hindu, a Muslim become a better Muslim, a Catholic become a better Catholic. We believe our work should be our example to people. We have among us 475 souls – 30 families are Catholics and the rest are all Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs—all different religions. But they all come to our prayers.”
“In Yemen, which is a Muslim country, I asked one of the rich people to build a Masjid (mosque) there. People needed a place to pray, I said to him. They are all Muslim brothers and sisters. They need a place where they can meet God.”
She famously said,
“Not even almighty God can convert a person unless that person wants it. What we are all trying to do by our work, by serving the people, is to come closer to God. If in coming face to face with God we accept Him in our lives, then we are converting. We become a better Hindu, a better Muslim, a better Catholic, a better whatever we are… What approach would I use? For me, naturally, it would be a Catholic one, for you it may be Hindu, for someone else, Buddhist, according to one’s conscience. What God is in your mind, you must accept.”
“I see Jesus in every human being. I say to myself, this is hungry Jesus, I must feed him. This is sick Jesus. This one has leprosy or gangrene; I must wash him and tend to him. I serve because I love Jesus.” (Online source) (Emphasis added).

Stephan Joubert holds to the same sentiment when he says:
“We are full-time stewards of God’s gifts which we have freely received. Freely give it away then! No, don’t just give stuff away, give yourself to others. Build relationships with those you serve. Become their friends. Remember: every person that you serve turns into an immediate friend of Jesus. Go one step further: see him or her as Jesus in disguise. Also know that every cent, every slice of bread, every meal, every cup of cold water, every prayer, every word of encouragement, every visit is an eternal investment in the kingdom of our Father. Not only will it impact on the life of at least one other person, but it will make heaven take special notice of you. God takes notice of the smallest deeds and words of kindness, as Jesus tells us in Matthew 10.”
If the enemies of Jesus Christ become his friends by simply becoming a friend of those who serve the needy in the giving of a cent, a slice of bread, a meal and a cup of cold water, then who needs Jesus and his cross? No one can become a friend of Jesus unless he or she receives the Spirit of God at conversion. They may need a cup of cold water, a slice of bread or a meal sometimes but what they truly need is the Living Water of the Holy Spirit. (John 4:7-42). You can give the needy and disadvantaged as many cups of cold water, slices of bread and meals as much as you like, it will benefit them absolutely nothing unless you also give them the truth as we find it in the Bible. It is the truth in the Bible that sets people free and not what you give them.
Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (Romans 8:9b).
Yet, Stephan Joubert sweeps this truth unceremoniously under the carpet and says that every disadvantaged person you serve is Jesus in disguise (aka Mother Teresa). Many professing Christians are doing the very same today. They provide the poor with food, drink, and clothes because their NAR pastors and contemplative mystical gurus encourage them to believe they are serving Jesus in disguise, but they never present to the poor the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that they may be saved. What is more important, their temporal needs or eternal destiny? Mystics in the Emergent Church regard “following Christ” in terms of service to the community, especially the poor. To follow Christ, according to their thinking, is to copy or follow the example of Jesus Christ. Although these things should be part of a Christian’s make-up, they are not necessary to follow Christ Jesus. You can serve the poor to your dying day and still not be a follower of Christ Jesus. Mother Teresa was a heretic who probably is in hell right now unless she repented of her false and deceptive Catholic gospel of good works.
From whence do the NAR mystics derive their unbiblical Mother Teresian mandate to serve the poor in the assumption that they are serving Jesus in disguise? They get it from here:
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. (Matthew 25:31-40).
The above portion from Scripture does not apply to the Bride (Body) of Christ. Had she been in view in Matthew 25, she would have had to endure the seven-year tribulation (Daniel’s Seventieth Week). It deals with unbelieving Jews and Gentiles who are going to miss out on the Pretribulation rapture to endure the seven-year tribulation. During that period many Jews and Gentiles are going to be saved of whom particularly the Jews are going to bear the brunt of the Antichrist’s persecution. (Jacob’s Trouble, Jeremiah 30:7). When the Lord Jesus returns in glory at his Second Advent (not the Pretribulation Rapture), He will not only judge the nation of Israel (as in the Parable of the Ten Virgins (vv. 1-13) and the Parable of the Talents (vv. 4-30), but also the Gentiles. The latter is not the White Throne Judgment which only involves the unsaved wicked subsequent to the millennial age of peace on earth (Revelation 20:13-15).
The judgment of the Gentiles will occur 1000 years earlier, in order to determine who will and will not enter the Kingdom of God on earth. The nations (Mathew 31-33) refer to Gentiles and are, therefore, people other than Jews who will have endured the seven-year tribulation. They are described as a mixture of sheep and goats which the Lord will separate at his Second Advent. Then the King, seated on his throne in Jerusalem (Luke 1:32), will invite those on his right hand (the sheep) to enter the Kingdom God has prepared for them. The reason for their entrance will be based on how they treated the least of his brothers and for having provided food, drink, and clothes for them during their harsh persecution under the Antichrist. Hence, “these brothers of mine” must refer to a third group that is neither sheep nor goats, namely his physical brethren the Jews. The Antichrist and his forces are going to do everything in their power to exterminate the redeemed remnant of the Jews (Revelation 12:17). Gentiles (the sheep) who are going to assist them in their grievous plight will do so at great risk of losing their own lives. Their works won’t save them but will reveal that they are saved.
The kingdom-now protagonists wrongly use this passage to usher in the kingdom on earth prematurely even before Jesus returns at his Second Coming, promoting the notion that service to the poor (whether saved or unsaved) is a token of one’s salvation. In fact, as I indicated earlier, some kingdom-now promulgators believe that the poor automatically become a friend of Jesus (i.e. get saved) when you give them something to eat. Stephan Joubert said, “Remember: every person that you serve turns into an immediate friend of Jesus. Go one step further: see him or her as Jesus in disguise.” Every Christian should be ready to help the poor, especially those of the household (fellow-Christians, brethren in Christ). However, whenever the motive is wrong, it means nothing in God’s sight. Jesus said:
Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise, ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. (Matthew 6:1-4).
“Jesus Is Not Keen To Be on The Right Side. He Just Wants To Help People.”
Whoever says it is wrong to always be right (in doctrine) when love and service should be the only condition to qualify you as a follower of Jesus Christ, is not only heavily deceived but tends to misinterpret biblical truths in respect of the end time. They have little or no regard for correct exegesis and context which is the main reason why they so easily fall into error in respect of the end time. In fact, they have revamped the Book of Revelation and many other passages in the four gospels pertaining to the Kingdom of God. A good example is a sermon Jannes Labuschagne of the Base Church in Muldersdrif delivered in November 2016 on Luke 14:1-6.
Kingdom-now dominionism has three main pillars – love, unity, and service. One may ask: where is sound doctrine in this illustrious column of pillars? Having listened carefully to Jannnes Labuschagne’s sermon, doctrine (being right according to the will of God) seems to have taken a place of lesser honor in his Dominionist-now scheme of things. Before we venture deeper into his sermon, we need to first look at what God says about being doctrinally right.
Let the elders [pastors and church leaders] that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. (1 Timothy 5:17).
Unfortunately, most of today’s pastors and church leaders who have fallen prey to the Kingdom-now Dominionist paradigm, have exchanged the laws (doctrines) of God for the so-called “Law of Love.” It vividly reminds one of Daniel’s prophecy in chapter 7 and verse 25 where the prophet says Antichrist will change times and laws. There is not a single instance in the Bible where God speaks of “The Law of Love.” It is non-existent in his Word and, therefore, is at best a man-made law, and even worse, a satanic- or demonically inspired law. Who invented it and where does it come from? Before we investigate its origin, we need to listen to an excerpt from a sermon by Jannes Labuschagne he delivered in November 2016 which he called, “Leadership: Abuse or Service.”
If you look at the text [Luke 14:1-24], you see that Jesus was being set up. He’s invited to this amazing party, but it says that the Pharisees were closely watching Jesus. They were looking at every step, every move He made. Because you must understand these Pharisees, they were zealous. They were looking for the Kingdom of God; they were excited about the Kingdom of God but their way of finding the kingdom was trying to be zealous to do the right thing constantly. So, they took the Ten Commandments, the Law, that was given to them to learn to love God and love others, they took that thing so literally that they literally started to become so hypocritical around what is right and what is wrong. So, Jesus started addressing these Pharisees, He starts addressing the guests that are invited to this prominent Pharisee’s house. And He asked them a very simple question. He says, “Is it lawful according to the Law, is it lawful to help someone on the Sabbath?” Now, these Pharisees, they sneak it a little bit. You see, they are on the side of right.
[Tom’s comment: No! They were not on the side of right; they were on the side of their own misinterpretation of what is right).
Jesus says I’m not really interested in being on the side of right, I just wanna help people.
[Tom’s comment: If Jesus was not really interested in being on the side of right, his death on the cross would have been a dismal failure because it was there, on the cross, where He fulfilled the Law of God (Romans 8:1-11).
That’s the heart of any man or woman in authority. So, Jesus is flying off this law of the Sabbath.
[Tom’s comment: Jesus never flew off the Laws of his Father. Had He done so, He would have been flying off Himself, the fulfillment of the Law. He was flying off the Pharisee’s misinterpretation of the Law. The Pharisees saw the act of compassion and loving-kindness in terms of doing work on the Sabbath which was forbidden in the Law of Moses. A similar incident is recorded in Luke 6 where it says that when the disciples were hungry, they plucked the ears of corn, rubbed them in their hands and ate it. The Pharisees who confronted Jesus with the Law of the Sabbath saw the rubbing of the corn in their hands as being equal to threshing and, therefore, a work.].
And his flying off this Law of Love. He says, which one will you choose – the Law of being right, the Law of being OK on the Sabbath or the Law of Love? So, we know which one Jesus chooses. He chooses the Law of Love.
Remember what Alice Bailey wrote: ” Christ and His disciples are known to be physically present on Earth, and the Kingdom which they rule, with its laws and modes of activity, is familiar to many and has been throughout the centuries.
[Tom’s comment: No! Jesus did not choose the “Law of Love” because there never was, never is and never will be such a thing. How on earth can there be a “Law of Love” when He Himself is the essence of love? (1 John 4:8) He is not some kind of law; He is the essence of love. Law involves decrees, commands, instructions, rules, and statutes. You cannot command or decree someone to love you. The slightest ruling to love would rob you of your free-will].
Closer examination reveals the shocking fact that the “Law of Love” was introduced to the world by a forerunner of the Antichrist whose appearance will only be known globally when the Bride (Body) of Christ is removed from the earth at the Pretribulation Rapture. According to 1 John 2:18 there will be many antichrists before the final one is revealed of which the Maitreya is one. The Maitreya or world teacher as he is also known, allegedly appeared in human form at a prayer meeting on Saturday 11th June 1988 in Nairobi, Kenya, where he spoke in Swahili for 15 minutes and miraculously cured dozens of people of their ailments.
He allegedly also appeared 11 years earlier on 19th July 1977 to the Asian community in London and in July officially began his mission on earth. In his missionary message no. 50 of 15th November 1978, he said:
My Coming is planned, is lawful and releases to you the Love and Will of God. I am the Manifestation of both Love and Will. I am the Caretaker. I am the One sent to teach you. I am the Flute Player. Many times before have I been among you. Many times, before have you given Me your love. Once again, My friends, demonstrate your allegiance and work with Me. I am the Lawgiver. I hear all pleas. I come to save. I render service.
My Law will be accepted by men. My Love will blossom in their hearts, and through this Law of Love, mankind will know God. My Teaching will show you the way to God, the simple path of Justice and Love. My Masters will teach you the ancient Laws and Lore, and bring you before Me. I am the Light. I am the Law. I am the Ascended One. I am the Knower of God’s Will. I am the Beacon. I am the Support of all men. I know men’s hearts and seek to purify them. I know men’s cares and seek to help them. I know the anguish of many and return to save them. My brothers and friends, I am with you and around you. I am your loving heart. I am your highest thought. I am your pity. (Message No. 40, 8 August 1978) (Online source). (Emphasis added).
The Theosophist and occult esotericist, Alice Bailey, also speaks of the “Law of Love” in her book “Esoteric Psychology, Volume II. The Seven Laws of Soul Group Life – Part 3.” The Law of Repulse she says “ . . . is, nevertheless, an aspect of the Law of Love, of the Vishnu or Christ aspect, and concerns an attitude of the soul, whose essential nature is love.” She continues to say,
I would remind you also that as this law is an aspect of the fundamental Law of Love, it concerns the psyche or soul, and therefore its function is to further the spiritual interests of the true man, and to demonstrate the power of the second aspect, the Christ consciousness, and the power of divinity. It “rejects the undesirable in order to find that which the heart craves, and thus leads the weary pilgrim from one rejection to another, until with unerring choice he makes the Great Decision.” (Online source).
Leonard Sweet states:
“The meaning of Christianity does not come from allegiance to complex theological doctrines [teaching you to be and live right] but a passionate love for a way of living in the world that revolves around following Jesus, who taught that love is what makes life a success … Only love. The main theme in the preaching of Jesus was that life with the Father was all about love … that we do not worship a God who punishes us for evil and rewards us for good.…
(Leonard Sweet; 2nd ellipsis dots in the original) (Emphasis added)
“Propositionalists want you to fall in line. Relationalists want you to fall in love. Christians aren’t people who follow Christianity. Christians are people who follow and fall in love with Christ.…
“We were put here to ‘glorify God and enjoy him forever.’ In other words, we were not put here to ‘do the right thing’ but to be in a ‘right relationship’ with God. We were not put here to ‘keep commandments’ but to conceive beauty, truth, and goodness. We were not put here to ‘take a stand’ but to walk in the light for the greater glory of God. Biblical truth doesn’t feast on fact. It feasts on relationship and revelation, which is why eternal truth is better communicated by the fictions of parables and narratives than the facts of science and philosophy.”
I don’t know to what extent Leonard Sweet may have had any influence on Jannes Labuschagne’s theology in respect of “propositionalism” (to fall in line with what is doctrinally right) versus “relationism” (falling in love without having to be right) within the scope of “THE LAW OF LOVE.” I really don’t. However, having been given a red card by referee Paddy O’Brien for a late and dangerous tackle on Johnny Wilkinson during the Springboks match against England on 23rd November 2002 at Twickenham, he should know that the Law of Love cannot annul any rules or regulations. Just imagine what would have happened if Jannes Labuschangne flashed his “Law of Love” card before Paddy O’Brien when he was given a red card and said, “Aaagh, come on ref, can’t we forget the rugby rules for a moment and apply the LAW OF LOVE and get on with the game? You see, ref, like Jesus I’m not really interested in being on the side of right, I just wanna help people like little Johnny.”
I’m not trying to knock Jannes Labuschagne’s rugby career. Nonetheless, if the rules and regulations of a merely human enterprise like rugby warrant the fair dismissal of a player by virtue of a yellow or red card when he oversteps the rules, how much more should we be in awe of God’s rules and regulations (commandments and doctrines)? Indeed, the Pharisees were zealously observing the Ten Commandments (or at least they thought so) but they were not right, as Jannes Labuschagne suggested, but completely wrong in their motives and interpretation of the Law. Labuschagne then tried to portray Jesus as having distanced Himself from the Pharisees’ right-ness by saying “I’m not really interested in being on the side of right, I just wanna help people.” The fact is that Jesus was more zealous of the Law than the Pharisees, to such a high degree that He magnified his Word (including the Law He gave to Moses) above his Name. (Psalm 138:2).
Many pastors who are attuned to a non-authoritative, non-abusive approach in their sermons are often the ones who actually abuse their authority when they lead their flocks astray, under the guise of love. Earlier, I said that I do not know whether Leonard Sweet had any influence on Jannes Labuschagne’s theology. Nonetheless, both often say the same things which pretty much indicate that Leonard Sweet and Jannes Labuschagne have the same mindset, as we shall see in the following section of this article.
Revamping the Gospel of God
When the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness to be tested of the devil, his last attempt to lead Jesus astray was aimed at God’s promise that his Son Jesus Christ would eventually rule the earth from the throne of his father David in Jerusalem (Luke 1:32). Satan cunningly tried to convince Jesus that there was no need for Him to wait until then to establish his kingdom on earth. He could have all the kingdoms of the earth by merely bowing down in worship to him – right now.
Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (Matthew 4:8-10).
Satan was the first and foremost Kingdom-now protagonist who has always craved to be worshiped by mankind and has since his fall poisoned man’s mind with thoughts of being gods themselves. If he can succeed to usher in his counterfeit Kingdom of God, having Israel to sign a covenant with his counterfeit Christ, the Antichrist, and the third temple to be built in Jerusalem, he will accomplish his goal to be worshiped in the holiest of holies. The most alarming thing is that he is using his dupes who are in leadership positions in Christian churches to advance and accomplish his goals by revamping the Gospel message. Tony Jones (born 31st March 1968), an American theologian, author, blogger, and speaker who is a leading figure in the emerging church movement and postmodern Christianity, wrote:
“We do not think this [Emerging Church Movement] is about changing your worship service. We do not think this is about . . . how you structure your church staff. This is actually about changing theology. This is about our belief that theology changes. The message of the gospel changes. It’s not just the method that changes.” – Tony Jones (“A New Theology for a New World.” A workshop for the 2004 Emergent Convention in San Diego).
Gordon MacDonald said:
“[W]e must think new thoughts about the eternal gospel. I don’t want to get in trouble in suggesting that we change the gospel, but that we ask ourselves: How can the old, old story be told in new, new ways to face the new, new realities?…
“I think we need to wrestle, . . . with a new theology that takes in the whole person . . .. And I find myself more and more . . . believing that one of the great untouched frontiers of theology are the first two chapters of the book of Genesis . . ..
“Christians ought to be on the frontier of discovering that may help us in the work of God to recover some of the things that human beings were capable of before sin entered the world…. Is there something in E.S.P.?”
(Gordon MacDonald’s Response to E.V. Newland, Evangelicals Face the Future).
One of their most successful methods to revamp and reinvent the old, old Gospel is to grab kingdom theology terms from well-known parables in Scripture, deftly change the intended meaning thereof and mix it into their own hodgepodge views of salvation and self-mortification. The following quote from “The Jesus Manifesto” written by Leonard Sweet and Frank Viola will suffice to prove the point.
“When you were begotten again, an incorruptible seed of My life was placed into you by My Spirit. That seed was Christ. Within the DNA of that incorruptible seed is the nature and character of My Son.” (Leonard Sweet and Frank Viola, Jesus Manifesto: Restoring The Supremacy And Sovereignty Of Jesus Christ, [Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 2010], 44, 45).
The word “seed” appears 55 times in 52 verses in the New Testament and never once does it refer to Jesus Christ’s life being placed in the redeemed by his Spirit. The sowing, germination, and growth of the seed either describe the humble beginnings of God’s Kingdom on earth to its final realization at Christ’s Second Advent, or it refers to Jesus Christ as Abraham’s and King David’s most excellent and important ancestor. Neither do the terms “incorruptible seed” and “God’s seed” refer to the life of Jesus Christ being planted in a person at his/her rebirth. The phrase “for his seed remaineth in him” also does not have any reference to Jesus Christ or his life planted in the redeemed. Albert Barnes writes:
It [seed] is applied in the New Testament to the word of God, or the gospel, as that which produces effects in the heart and life similar to what seed that is sown, does. Compare Mat_13:26, Mat_13:37-38. . . . The proper idea, according to this, is that the seed referred to is truth, which God has implanted or sown in the heart, from which it may be expected that the fruits of righteousness will grow. But that which abides in the heart of a Christian is not the naked word of God; the mere gospel, or mere truth; it is rather that word as made vital and efficacious by the influence of his Spirit; the germ of the divine life; the principles of true piety in the soul.
The parable of the seed and the sower in Matthew 13, Mark 4, and Luke 8 make this very clear, as well as 1 Peter 1:23 which says, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.” (1 Peter 1:23). When God (God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit) make their abode in a redeemed sinner (John 14:23), they do not take up their abode as a small mustard seed that first needs to die, and then germinate and begin to grow to its fullness, as we shall see in a sermon Jannes Labuschagne delivered at The Base Church on Sunday 24th February 2019.
Jannes Labuschagne took his sermon from Mark 4:26-29 which he entitled “Growing your potential as an overcomer.” He asked:
So, how do we grow? It’s a big question: how do we grow? It’s fascinating that this portion of Scripture deals with two aspects. You need to understand how to enter rest and you need to understand how to use the cross and enter death in that way. It’s interesting how Jesus packages these two because for us to grow to the full potential God has, we need to grow in confidence, but we also need to grow in substance. So, Jesus starts the story off, He says, listen, you need to understand that the seed is so powerful; it’s got the potential to change your life. You need to learn to grow, to trust that seed, the confidence of that seed, that confidence in that seed. What’s interesting is that this passage refers to – and it’s amazing how he says it in verse 27, “night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up the seed sprouts and grows though he does not know how.”
Jesus is saying, any seed, any word from God, has got the potential to transform your life. But the seed that we are considering this morning is very specific because Galatians says the seed to which all the promises were spoken, was the seed called Christ. See, when you get born again Christ is placed inside of you like a seed which gets placed inside of a woman’s womb. That seed carries life; that seed grows. It says you don’t always know; you don’t know how this thing works but you can trust the fact that the seed was programmed for growth, to unlock potential. And what I find fascinating in this process of growing, is that we try, instead of growing into confidence, we try to get into knowledge. We want to try and find out to know how the seed grows. Jesus said, you diligently seek the Scriptures because you feel that by them you have life, yet you do not come to me. (Emphasis added).
Those who want to listen to his sermon can find it here.
As I said earlier, the Emergent Church’s and Manifest Sons of God’s most lucrative way to revamp and reinvent the old, old Gospel is to grab kingdom theology terms from well-known parables in Scripture, deftly change their intended meaning, and then mix it into their own hodgepodge views of salvation and self-mortification. Jannes Labuschagne may as well have quoted Leonard Sweet word for word who said, “When you were begotten again, an incorruptible seed of My life was placed into you by My Spirit.
The most shocking fact about their unwarranted mingling of millennial kingdom passages and salvific passages is that they are presenting their flocks with another gospel, another Jesus and another spirit (2 Corinthians 11:4). The seed in Mark 4 undoubtedly points to a physical mustard seed sowed into the ground to illustrate the humble and insignificant beginnings of the Kingdom of God on earth and its eventual magnanimous growth into a huge tree of which the shadow serves as a haven for many fowls of the air.
Thus, the parable depicts God’s Kingdom as both present but veiled (consisting of both believers and unbelievers, wheat and tares or darnel) and its glorious future unveiling at Christ’s Second Advent when He returns with his Bride (who’d been raptured before the seven-year tribulation) to the earth to harvest and separate the wheat from the tares, and to set up his millennial kingdom of peace on earth. The seed is NOT Jesus Christ whose DNA (programmed nature) is allegedly planted into everyone who gets saved. The reference to Jesus as a seed in Galatians 3:16, 19, 29 and 2 Timothy 2:8 simply refers to Christ’s genealogy as an ancestor of Abraham and King David and nothing more.
The jargon (i.e. “potential,” “to grow in confidence,” “to grow in substance,” “programmed,” “seed,” “unlocked”) Jannes Labuschagne uses in his sermons clearly mirror the teachings of the Latter Day Rain movement (which started in the late 40’s) and later developed into the Manifestation of the Sons of God movement. “Let Us Reason Ministries,” wrote:
The Manifest Sons of God was divided into two major sects. The Walk, and the Body of Christ. The Walk came out of the Latter Rain Movement under the “apostleship” of John Robert Stevens, who like Paul Cain and others was a William Branham disciple. His was the Church of the Living Word in Redondo Beach, California.
The Charismatic Dominionism expressed in spiritual warfare and the current signs and wonders movement is largely an extension of the Manifest Sons of God doctrine. Manifest Sons’ teachings are Kingdom Dominionist: they believe in the restoration of the Church, restoration of the 5-fold ministry with the offices of apostles and prophets, having authority through its leaders by strong shepherding and discipleship. A perfection of the saints, immortalization, and the attainment of being Christ as we become just like Christ in nature and ability. The Manifest Sons of God doctrine has an eschatology of Dominionism through the perfecting of the saints under the leadership guidance of the latter-day prophets and apostles. They mostly deny a rapture in the classic sense. Some replace it with individual raptures, a collective transformation to immortality on earth, or none at all. This quote is representative of the teaching “the doctrine of the Rapture was a great and effective ruse of the enemy to implant in the Church a retreat mentality … already this yoke has been cast off by the majority in the advancing church, and it will soon be cast off by all.” (Rick Joyner, THE HARVEST 1989 /1990 revised booklet on pg.121).
Some believe that the second coming of Jesus is to be “in the Church,” before he comes for the Church. That the Church, his body will actually become Christ on earth, glorious and triumphant. They will go conquer the land and then rule the nations with a rod of iron. Some believe that after the Church has taken dominion over the nations, she will hasten the day that will call Jesus back to earth and hand the nations over to Him.
This is nothing new and Charles Taze Russell actually taught this over 100 years ago. If you don’t recognize his name he founded the Jehovah’s Witnesses cult.
“Our high calling is so great, so much above the comprehension of men, that they feel that we are guilty of blasphemy when we speak of being ‘new creatures’- not any longer human, but ‘partakers of the divine nature.”It is claiming that we are divine beings – hence all such are Gods,. Thus we have a family of God …. Now we appear like men, and all die naturally like men, but in the resurrection we will rise in our true character as Gods … Then the whole family – head and body are addressed as one, as they will be under Christ, their head, saying: Arise O God, judge (rule, bless) the earth: for thou shaft inherit all nations. The Mighty God, and Everlasting Father of the nations is Christ whose members in particular we are.” (Watchtower, 10 & 11/1881, p. 10, Reprints, p. 301).
Copeland states “Jesus is no longer the only begotten Son of God.” (Now We Are In Christ Jesus, p.24,1980)
This means Christ was the pattern son, not unique, but only the first of a kind of many, many more.
Rod Parsley states, “In the old covenant we did not have Jesus in the flesh. In the next covenant we had Jesus manifest in the flesh. In the next covenant we had Jesus manifest in the flesh in a person but of many in a different form.” (Breakthrough 9/19/2000) Parsleys three covenants has the Church becoming what Jesus was exclusively. Yet he teaches now “For in him dwelt the fulness of the Godhead bodily that’s what it said the fullness of the Godhead bodily. .. Now it didn’t say anywhere that you wouldn’t have the same thing. Didn’t say anywhere that you couldn’t obtain unto the same thing.” “In Acts the matter is you’re an heir a joint heir with Jesus Christ. Jesus said don’t look at what I’m doin, brother what your gonna do is greater than what I’m gonna do. ” (Ibid.)
Morris Currello leading the unaware in a chant “Who are you? Come on, who are you? Come on, say it: ‘Sons of God!’ Come on, say it! And what does work inside us, brother, is that manifestation of the expression of all that God is and all that God has. And when we stand up here, brother, you’re not looking at Morris Cerullo; you’re looking at God. You’re looking at Jesus.” (Morris Cerullo, The Endtime Manifestation of the Sons of God World Evangelism tape 1)
Benny Hinn, when you say, ‘I am a Christian,’ you are saying, ‘I am mashiach,’ in the Hebrew. I am a little messiah walking on earth, in other words. That is a shocking revelation. …May I say it like this? You are a little god on earth running around” (Praise-a-Thon, TBN, November 6,1990)
“Are you ready for some real revelation knowledge….you are god” (Benny Hinn, “Our Position In Christ”, tape AO31190-1)
This certainly is a revelation, to God.
Hagin, Copeland, Hinn and the much of the Word/Faith Movement all are saying basically the same thing. Why? Because they are coming from the same source, the Latter Rain teachings which are enjoying new growth unlike it ever did before. The new anointing that is being dispersed brings their followers to a “new knowledge” of the Scriptures.
D.R. McConnell (a critic of this) writes about the new revelation knowledge “When these truths really gain the ascendancy in us, they will make us spiritual supermen, masters of demons and disease. It will be the end of weakness and failure. In the presence of these tremendous realities, we arise and take our place. We go out and live as supermen indwelt by God.” (A Different Gospel, P. 21, D.R. McConnell, 1988.).
(Tom comments: In a sermon Jannes Labuschagne gave in 2017 which he called “Being revived ready, by the way of faith” he talks about the incredible authority God has bestowed on the leaders, the sons, and daughters of God, (i.e. new apostles) so that they can do some weird things like preaching the Gospel in power, drive out demons, raise the dead, heal the blind, heal the lepers. Has he and his church forgotten what Jesus once said to the Pharisees? – “A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. (Matthew 16:4). Has he and his church forgotten his tremendous indictment in Matthew 7? – “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Matthew 7:21-23)
Let us Reason Ministries continues:
Much of this has been birthed through the Vineyard Church via the signs and wonders movement, Bob Jones, “the Church is in no condition for the Lord to come today … He’s going to come for a church that is mature in righteousness… progressively going in this righteousness until you take on THE VERY DIVINE NATURE OF CHRIST HIMSELF and you begin to see Christ in the Church. Christ won’t come for the church until you see Christ in the Church until the Church looks like Jesus. PAPA (God) planted Jesus, He sowed Him down here in this earth to have a whole nation of brothers and sisters that looked just like Jesus … His Son was a ALPHA SON, your children are the OMEGA sons and daughters.” [Mike Bickle interjects here, “Jesus was the beginning, but our children and us, we’re included in this … we’re the end of this thing.” (quoted in Discernment newsletter).
To put sinners saved by grace on an equality with Christ shows how deficient these so-called “anointed ones” are in biblical understanding. (Online Source)
Jannes Labuschagne’s statement “ . . . for us to grow to the full potential God has, we need to grow in confidence, but we also need to grow in substance” echoes Bob Jones (You can read more about Bob Jones here and here) and Mike Bickle (You can read about Mike Bickle here and here) to the letter. He did not use the word “substance” for nothing. The dictionary defines “substance” as “the real physical matter of which a person or thing consists and which has a tangible, solid presence.” The Bible never once exhorts us to “grow in confidence and in substance.” The phrase “grow in” appears only once in the New Testament which definitely does not encourage Christians to grow in confidence and in substance.
Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. (2 Peter 3:17-18).
Christians can only grow in grace when they are constantly in a mindset of spiritual discernment and awareness of the errors and deception of the wicked. Sons and daughters of God who truly have been born again from above, are not “tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;” (Ephesians 4:14). They know the voice of the Good Shepherd and flee from the voices of strangers. (John 10:1-5).
Here are a few quotes from the lips of heretics to show how dangerous the Manifest Sons of God movement is.
“The Earth and all of creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God, the time when they will come into their maturity and immortalization… When the Church receives its full inheritance and redemption then creation will be redeemed from its cursed condition of decay, change and death… the Church has a responsibility and ministry to the rest of creation. Earth and Its natural creation is anxiously waiting for the Church to reach full maturity and come to full sonship. When the Church realizes its full sonship, its bodily redemption will cause a redemptive chain reaction throughout all of creation.” (Bill Hamon p. 385 THE ETERNAL CHURCH) (Read more about Bill Hamon and is anti-biblical views on prophecy here).
“I see the great year of Jubilee, when we shall pass through the veil into the very Presence of the fullness of God, to be filled with this fullness and go forth proclaiming liberty to all of creation. Romans 8 calls this the “Manifestation of the Sons of God”, and Says the whole creation is groaning and crying for this day. …This is the ultimate anointing! This is the fullness of the Spirit! This is the Spirit without measure that Jesus had spoken of in John 3:34, reserved until the end time for His Brethren!”’ (EAGLE SAINTS ARISE, Bill Britton)
“We are on earth as extensions of God to finish the work He began. We are the essence of God, His on-going incarnation in the world.” (Earl Paulk, Held In The Heavens, 1985, p.125).
“The completion of the incarnation of God in the world must be in His church…Jesus Christ is the firstfruit, but without the ongoing harvest, the incarnation will never be complete.” (Earl Paulk, The Wounded Body of Christ, p. 43). (Read more about Earl Paul here).
“The living Word of God, Jesus Christ, was conceived in the womb of a virgin. The Word became flesh in the God-Man Jesus Christ (John 1:1). Likewise, the Word of God must be made flesh in the Church in order for us to bear witness to the Kingdom which God has called us to demonstrate.” (Earl Paulk, Held In The Heavens, 1985, p.60)
“When the Spirit of Christ comes into the physical world, He must enter through a physical body… When Christ first entered our world as a child, it was Mary whom God chose to give Christ birth. Mary’s life symbolized the qualities the Church must possess to walk in the fullness of Christ … [God is preparing us as He did Mary to give birth to the ministry of His Son. Even now, in the spiritual womb of the virgin church, the holy purpose of Christ is growing, awaiting maturity; ready to be born in power in the timing of God … the virgin Church is “in labour and in pain to give birth” (Rev 12:1-2) … even now, he trembles and the heavens watch in awe, for I say to you, once again, the virgin is with child. Before Jesus Himself returns, the last virgin Church shall become pregnant with the promise of God. Out of her travail, the Body of Christ shall come forth, raised to the full statute of its Head, the Lord Jesus. Corporately manifested in holiness, power and love, the Bride of Christ shall arise.” (Francis Frangipane, ‘In the Presence of God” Now Wine Press, 1994.Chapter: “The Virgin Shall Be With Child).
No wonder Jannes Labuschagne said, “See! When you get born again Christ is placed inside of you like a seed which gets placed inside of a woman’s womb. That seed carries life; that seed grows. It says you don’t always know; you don’t know how this thing works but you can trust the fact that the seed was programmed for growth, to unlock potential.” In other words, in the same way, Christ was placed as a seed in the womb of the Virgin Mary, so too was He placed as a seed in you when you get born again to unlock the potential. When this seed grows to its full potential you and the church collectively become the true substance of Christ (little “gods” with a small “g”). THIS IS NOTHING SHORT OF BLASPHEMY!
The Iniquity of Apostasy
Paul wrote to Timothy:
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; (1 Timothy 4:1-2)
If we break this down to its bare essentials, the following expressions stand out clearly.
- The Spirit speaks expressly. The Spirit of God who is the Spirit of Truth is not claiming or saying there are some who MAY depart from the faith. He distinctly says that some WILL depart from the faith. In fact, Jesus Christ Himself said that the majority will miss out on true biblical salvation (Matthew 7:14).
- Depart from the faith. Note carefully, Paul does not say “depart from faith” but “from THE faith.” There is no other faith whereby sinners are saved but by “THE faith” as we find it expounded in the Word of God. Anything else added to this faith to allegedly save you, is false. This includes baptism by immersion in water, speaking in tongues that supposedly is the evidence that you’ve been filled with the Holy Ghost, prophecies, signs and wonders, slain in the spirit, laughing in the spirit et al, is not of God. For instance, Jannes Labuschagne’s sermon title “Growing Your Potential as an Overcomer” is not biblical and therefore cannot be from God. We are not exhorted to grow our potential as overcomers. Paul said under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit: “Nay, in all these things we are [already] more than conquerors through him that loved us. (Romans 8:37).
- Giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. The word of God says, “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. (Isaiah 8:20). And when there is no light in them, false teachers will automatically give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.
- Speaking lies in hypocrisy. They have learned how to pretend preaching the word of truth in a way that is often very difficult to discern whilst they are indeed presenting their listeners with a pack of lies. Why? Here’s the answer. “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. (2 Corinthians 11:13-15).
- Having their conscience seared with a hot iron. When skin is seared with a hot iron it becomes callous, hard, and unresponsive to any outside influence. That’s precisely what this verse means. Anyone who’s caught up in the deadly web of the NAR, Manifest Sons of God, prophetic and healing ministries refuse to listen to exhortation, reproof, and rebuke. What they usually do when they are confronted with the truth from God’s Word is to run to their own gurus (newly anointed apostles0 who allegedly have been given the authority by God to lead their followers deeper into apostasy. Paul wrote: “Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. (Acts 20:30). The apostle John wrote: “We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us [listens to us]; he that is not of God heareth not us [does not listen to us]. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. (1 John 4:6).
In conclusion, I would like to quote the following passages from God’s Word.
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. (2 John 1:9-11).
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:8-10).
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. (John 10:1-5).
When you follow strangers (false teachers and prophets) you are at worst probably not saved and at best, heavily deceived. My urgent plea to you is that you flee from them as far as you can. But, then again, you may be one of those who refuse to listen because you are lost and desperately in need to be saved. You say you believe in Jesus. The question is, Jesus who or which Jesus? There are many Jesuses who claim to be the real one but are in fact demons masquerading as the Jesus of the Bible. Make sure that you believe in the real Jesus of the Bible.
Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. (2 Corinthians 11:1-4).
We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. (1 John 4:6).
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? (2 Corinthians 13:5).

:like:
Dominionism is false and being used as a counterfeit by the devil just as you said, to set up his kingdom as per Rev. 13.
Now when it comes to God’s Kingdom, He will set it up at the return of Jesus.
There is no other way to restore paradise, remove sin, lift the curse, do away with death and sickness and poverty and war other then Jesus doing it Himself.
He bought and paid for it and it is His to redeem in His timing. He wore the crown of thorns and then He will wear the crown of glory to reign.
He is the rightful King!
The apostasy out there is astounding and growing exponentially.
Now there is also the distinction of two kingdoms of God.
The one I mentioned above and the one we enter when we get saved.
Jesus said ‘the kingdom of heaven will be among you.’ Of course this was
not dominionism. This was just the church. When you get saved you are
a new creation and enter the kingdom of heaven since the Holy Spirit comes
to live in you. Those who are born of the Spirit have this in common and
live according to God’s ways and thus ‘the kingdom is among us.’ Not to
be confused with dominionism. Sin is still here, as is sickness, death,
the curse, and many sinners, etc. Dominionism is false. No human or
group of humans, saved or not, could ever bring heaven to earth. The
kingdom of God is ushered in by… God! The kingdom of heaven is
brought at the return of Christ.
Thanks for the great post!

(Openbaring 3:15-18).
Hulle het hulle beroem op hulle “health, wealth and prosperity” maar was naak (geestelik onvolwasse en sommiges ook blatant verlore, ongered – 1 Korintiërs 2:15; Efesiërs 4:14; 2 Korintiërs 11:13-15). Klink nogal bekend, nie waar nie?
Spreke in tale
In Sefanja 3:9 staan daar, “For then will I turn to the people a pure language [enklevoud], that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.”
3. Waarom sê Paulus, “Want as ek in ‘n taal bid, dan bid my gees, maar my verstand is onvrugbaar. Wat van as ek in my binnekamer in ‘n vreemde taal (“foreign language”) bid?
Paulus skryf in Galasiërs:
Johannes skryf:
Dave Hunt skryf in sy boek “A Woman Rides the Beast” as volg:
2 Timoteus 2:14-26
