Angus Buchan – It’s Time to Unite All Faiths under Rome

That’s right, “It’s Time”, time to unite all faiths in a National Day of Prayer in Bloemfontein under Rome.  The Vryheid Herald says:  “MEN and women of faith will gather on April 22 in Bloemfontein to take part in Angus Buchan’s National Day of Prayer.” (Emphasis added)

Angus Buchan says here on Gateway news:

“We are calling one million people to attend: from every race group, every denomination and every walk of life – men, women and children. The entrance is free, no tickets will be sold, and no collections will betaken at the event.”

“We firmly believe that if our Nation stands together as one, and calls upon the Name of Jesus Christ, He will hear us and heal our nation and bring peace to our hearts and homes.”

Angus Buchan, stated in an official announcement:

“We are tired of people taking the law into their own hands. We are going to call upon the Lord to bring justice, peace and hope to our beloved South Africa. He says “If My people who are called by My name” – that is you and I. So I want to ask you to pray for us.”

Biblical meaning of the 2 Chronicles 7:14

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

The key to understanding any verse of Scripture is context. There are the verses before and after that we need to consider, and then there is the larger context of Scripture – in other words, how 2 Chronicles 7:14 fits into the overall story.  We also need to look at and who is this verse talking to i.e., who is the audience. 2 Chronicles 7:14 when quoted out of context has a different meaning to when it’s quoted in context.

The 2 verses before 2 Chronicles 7:12-14 say;

“And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.”   13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;  14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

The immediate context of 2 Chronicles 7:14 shows us that this verse is about Solomon,  Israel and the temple and the fact that God might send judgment upon the land in the form of drought, locusts, or pestilence.  In verse 2 Chronicles 7:19-22 it says

“But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;  20 Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations. 21 And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house? 22 And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.”

Solomon would have most likely perceived this warning as the same warning mentioned in Deuteronomy 28. God made a covenant with Israel and guaranteed to look after them and make them thrive and their land thrive on condition that they obeyed Him. He likewise guaranteed to bring curses upon them in the event that they neglected to obey. Due to the covenant relationship, there was a direct link between their obedience to God and their prosperity, and their defiance of God and the hardships that followed. Deuteronomy 28 explains what blessings God would be bestowed on Israel for their obedience and the condemnations for defiance.

In the book of Judges, we see this type of blessing and cursing play out under the Law.  Judges chapter 2 is frequently referred to as “The Cycle of the Judges.” Israel would fall into transgression, God would send another nation to make war with them and judge them. Israel would atone and call upon God for forgiveness. God would raise up a judge to deliver them out of their crisis. They would serve God for some time but no sooner were things going well, Israel would become wicked once again. And once again the cycle would start over.

In 2 Chronicles 7, God is reminding Solomon of the covenant He had made with Israel – if Israel obeys Him, God will bless them, if they disobey God judgement will befall them.  The judgement that God bring to Israel because of their wickedness is meant to call Israel to repentance.  In Chronicles 7 God is giving Solomon assurance that if Israel shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek God’s face, and turn from their wicked ways; then God will hear then from heaven, and will forgive their sin, deliver them from judgement and will heal their land.

This is soley a promise to Israel (ancient Israel and modern-day Israel), that if they repent of their wicked ways God will look after them in mighty ways.  Unfortunately most Christians today have taken this verse (thanks to Angus Buchan) totally out of context and now apply it to South Africa. Angus says, if South Africa were to humble themselves, pray, seek God’s face, and repent, then God will heal our land from “malice, hatred, violence, murder and corruption in the country.”  Is this the proper application and interpretation of this verse?  Nope.  South Africa, or even America for that matter is not Israel. We do not have a covenant with God like God has a covenant with Israel.  The covenant or promise that applies to Israel does not apply to another other country.

Now it is true that if a nation is in crisis, feverent prayer by Christians that the leaders of the country find salvation through Jesus Christ is always the right thing to do –  however we need to take note of one very important issue.  When Israel repented they did it as an entire nation.  The entire nation of Israel repented, from the people on the streets, to every business owner, to the entire government – they repented and actually turned from their wicked ways.  It was not 500,000 people or Angus’ dream of a million people of faith (different denominations from Roman Catholic to Protestant) coming to God and repenting on behalf of the country’s sins.   Angus Buchan says that this gathering is orchestrated by Jesus Christ Himself and after the meeting on 22 April, “South Africa will be a changed country.”

The Vryheid Herald says, “With the gathering expected to draw 1 million people, this National Day of Prayer is certainly no small feat and Buchan maintains, “The reality of the enormity of this task hit me hard… This is so huge that if God doesn’t do it, it can’t work… You cannot afford to miss this happening that Jesus Christ has orchestrated.” (Emphasis added)

No Angus Jesus Christ did not organise this, you did. God promised Israel deliverance when the entire nation repented, not 2% of the population from different Christian faiths coming together to embrace each other under the Roman Catholic Eucharist Christ, become One, and repent on behalf of the other 98% of the country.

On Gateway news it talks of Sacred Assembly – a historic gathering of 50 000 Christians at the FNB Stadium, Soweto, November 19 2016 where Angus Buchan attend, it says regarding repentance, “We respect the government, because God put them in place, but we have come here to intercede and repent on behalf of the country, which is no longer walking in God’s ways.” (Emphasis added)

Many will argue that Christians can come together and be considered the righteous remnant, that is that they now are Israel.  No, God never promised anywhere in the Bible that if Christians got together and repented and prayed for the nation they reside in, that the nation filled with wicked people will be miraculously saved and the land start to will flow with milk and honey.  If a national repentance took place where 98% of the population repented to Jesus Christ the Son of God and not a “Christ of unity” – God would for sure save each individual with a genuine heart and the consequences of a God fearing nation would mean that crime, hatred and corruption would naturally decrease.

Having said all that, I repeat, as Christians it is our duty to pray and ask Jesus Christ for forgiveness of our sins and help us not sin again as sin hinders us in our relationship with Jesus Christ and drives us away from God (Hebrews 12:1).  And we are to pray for those in authority, that govern our nation (1 Timothy 2:1-2).  However the Bible does not promote political, or economic salvation of any nation other than Israel. So there is no guarantee God will deliver South Africa as Angus Buchan has so emphatically stated, that South Africa WILL be “a changed nation” after the 22nd April 2017.   Just the fact alone that Angus Buchan and his team of “It’s Time’ers” are promoting another gospel and a “Christ of unity” for all Christian faiths under one banner, nothing, I repeat, nothing good can come of it.  What will happen is the Roman Catholic church will be so much closer to establishing it’s One World Catholic (Universal) Religion.

What God does guarantee is not a national salvation but a personal salvation (Romans 8:1) of each person in South Africa if they realise they are lost sinners without Jesus Christ, sincerely repent of their sin and turn from their wicked ways.  If most of South Africa actually got genuinely saved, crime would most certainly diminish.  What Angus Buchan is doing with his Mighty Men Conferences and “It’s Time” National Day of Prayer is the direct opposite to what God commands.  The Word of God commands us to come out of Babylon, not merge back into her.

Revelation 18:4  “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”

Jeremiah 51:6 “Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD’S vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.”

Angus Buchan is using the fear of “malice, hatred, violence, murder and corruption in the country” to lure everyone into a trap, a trap to accept The Christ over Jesus Christ.  In the Roman Catholic Church this Christ (also called the Eucharist Christ) hangs on their cross, dead, constantly dying for the sins of mankind over and over and over again.

The Roman Catholic Church and Co-Reformation

During the 1540’s, a Counter-Reformation started by the Catholic Church in response to the protestant reformation. But the last decades are proving things have drastically changed.  “One could almost say that the Catholic Church has set out from the path of the Counter-Reformation onto that of the Co-Reformation.says Gerhard Feige to Luther2017.de. He is a Catholic ecumenical officer Bishop, in Magdeburg, Germany. 2 (Emphasis added)

Angus says here

“The visible unity of the church (with each other and with God) speak very strongly to the world. The Holy Spirit then brings conviction. But if we remain passive, we have no impact and nothing changes. It is when we draw up, UNITE and gather in a Holy Assembly, that a message of new direction is loud and clear. And this is only the beginning of change. Only a united church can heal a divided nation. #BeTheChange”

There is only One Way that I know of, and that is Jesus Christ the Son of God. (John 14:6)  What could this “new direction” possibly be?  The new direction is headed right back to Rome and it’s Universal Religion called the Roman Catholic Church.  What “change” is Angus Buchan speaking about?  When all the world’s churches and faiths “UNITE and gather in a Holy Assembly”, we will revert back to the Dark Ages where the Roman Catholic church will rule the world with iron teeth and join Islam to behead those who chose Jesus Christ the Son of God over The Christ.

Angus believes in the holy Catholic Church:

Gateway news says here where Angus Buchan attend the “Sacred Assembly – a historic gathering of 50 000 Christians at the FNB Stadium, Soweto, on Saturday (November 19 2016).”

“Then all at the Sacred Assembly knelt on their knees and prayed the Apostles’ Creed as one, in faith, together with Uncle Angus.

“I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
He descended into hell.
The third day He arose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
He is seated on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit;
the holy catholic church;
the communion of saints;
the forgiveness of sins;
the resurrection of the body;
and the life everlasting.
Amen!”

It has been argued by Angus Buchan that he was a Catholic as a young man and went to Catechism, and he says that he is now Protestant.  Fair enough, millions of Christians were once Catholic and then out rightly rejected Roman Catholicism and it’s false god’s and asked Jesus Christ the Son of God for forgiveness of their sins for believing in such a terrible doctrine.  But in this prayer Angus says he “believes in the holy Catholic Church”, he was an adult when he said this back in Nov 2016, not a child or young man.  Surely Angus Buchan you should renounce the Catholic Church entirely?  Angus also says that the Catholic church is not Roman Catholicism which is a big fat lie.  The Catholic Church is the Roman Catholic Church – even the Roman Catholic church says so, and who are we to argue with them.

The Apostles Creed

“This is the Apostles Creed, as used in the Roman Catholic Church’s liturgy.

This creed is considered to be a faithful summary of the Apostles’ teaching. It is the ancient baptismal symbol of the Church at Rome. (See Catechism, 194.)”

Rome throughout history and Rome in the End Times

The saying that history repeats itself is an understatement when it comes to understanding the past, present and future of the Roman Catholic Church.  The bible says “…spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.” (1 John 4:3) Rome was already in existence when Jesus Christ was on earth, they tried to kill Jesus at His birth, they conquered most of the civilized world and Rome is again making her grand entrance as a REVIVED ROMAN EMPIRE to conquer the world again; and is currently uniting all denominations and faiths into a One World Religion and Rome and will bring tribulation unlike the world has ever seen during the coming 7 year Tribulation.

Matthew 24:21 “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Rome:

Daniel 2 describes four kingdoms (or the 4 beasts out of the sea), the last kingdom would be in power until Jesus Christ returns.

Daniel 2:32 “this image’s head was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze”

  1. The kingdom of Babylon – the golden head.
  2. Medo-Persia, the silver chest, conquered Babylon.
  3. Greece, the bronze waist, conquered Medo-Persia.

Daniel 2:40 “the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything

4. The Roman Empire was the most powerful of all, and it conquered and controlled most of the civilized world, trampling over people, murdering everyone who would not bow down to Rome.  Millions of Christians and Jews were persecuted, even Pagans were murdered who refused to accept the Papacy thinking it was in fact Christian when it was not.

Islam:

Daniel 2:41-43 “the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it. And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay

The Strong’s Hebrew word for both “mixed” H6151  and “they shall mingle themselves” H6151 and H1934 is:

The clay represents the Arabs; Islam and all Muslims, who were the great Ottoman Empire, who actually worked with Rome and the Roman Catholic Church to control land that had been previously occupied by the Roman Empire.  Rome and the Ottomon Empire worked together as they killed Christians and Jews, but they were also at war with each other during the Crusades.  As the Bible states, iron and clay don’t mix well.  In the last days (that is now) Rome and Islam are working together, but in the end they will turn on each other.

What is still to come but is already in the world?

The word ‘antichristos’ is the Greek word for Antichrist. Translated into English it means Vice-Christ or Vicar of Christ, which the Pope has claimed as his title.

Pope Pius X declared, “The Pope is not simply the representative of Jesus Christ. On the contrary, he is Jesus Christ Himself, under the veil of the flesh. Does the Pope speak? It is Jesus Christ who is speaking, hence, when anyone speaks of the Pope, it is not necessary to examine but to obey.” Pope Pius X, Evangelical Christendom, Vol. 49, Jan 1. 1895 A.D.,  p. 15, “the organ of the Evangelical Alliance,” published in London by J. S. Phillips.

Pope Pius XII said, “…recognize the Holy, Catholic, Roman Church to be the only true Church of Jesus Christ, outside of which neither sanctity nor salvation can be found. Call them to the unity of the one fold, granting them the grace to believe every truth of our holy faith and to submit themselves to the Supreme Roman Pontiff, the Vicar of Jesus Christ on earth.”  Pope Pius XII, The Raccolta, Benzinger Brothers, Boston, 1957 A.D., No. 626.

Spiritual Racists

In February 2014, Bishop Palmer gained notoriety after Pope Francis sent him as a special envoy to a Charismatic Evangelical Leadership Conference hosted by Kenneth Copeland.

Bishop Tony Palmer, who is a personal friend of Pope Francis I, is now labeling Christians “Spiritual Racists,” if they don’t partner with the Catholic Church.

He says that refusing to unite with the Roman Catholic Church is “the sin” against the cross of Christ. In other words, they are rejecting Christ’s will and they are heretics.

So while Pope Francis I is drawing Christians, Muslims and all religions to the Papal Church in the name of peace and unity…

Bishop Tony Palmer, who no doubt is a Jesuit like Pope Francis, is starting the process of demonizing the true followers of Christ.

In their New World Order, all religions will be joined together, and the enemy of the world will be those who will not bow down to the image of the Pope, who will not obey their commands.     I have a faint recollection of seeing an article or youtube video somewhere where I am sure he said that he died.     You will find it difficult to not find someone who has never heard of some kind of religious miracle be it – read it on news, saw about it on TV. Many Catholics are convinced of the miracles of various apparitions of the Virgin Mary, weeping or bleeding statues, stigmata etc. There are reported miracles in many other religions including Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam who all claim to have documented miracles.

    Satan has the power to perform positive spiritual effects on people including masses of people and even make it seem like a nation has been changed spirually for only a while – he can and does perform miracles in ORDER TO DECEIVE. His power is limited of course

      John 8:44 “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”
      2 Corinthians 11:14 “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”

    How does Satan deceive? By giving people what they want! Change. It might look good on the outside but inside it’s rotten and driving people AWAY from the God of the Bible to another god (himself)

    When Moses and Aaron went to confront the Pharaoh, Moses performed a miraculous sign to confirm their message from God

      Exodus 7:8–10 “Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.”

    The magicians of Egypt were able to perform the EXACET SAME miracle using their enchantments (Exodus 7:11).

    However God’s miracle greater (Exodus 7:12), “…Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rod [serpents]”

    But the fact remains, that the Egyptian magicians were able to perform a satanic miracle in the Pharaoh’s court.

    During the tribulation and the rise upto the tribulation which we are in now, the Antichrist and his ministers of righteousness will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve as spiritual lie, they will even go so far as to lie to the people and tell them that when they come to the IT’S TIME meeting they will even be healed in their seats, as Angus Buchan has stated.

      2 Thessalonians 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders

    Jesus warned everyone (you included) that the last days will be characterized by DECEIT of counterfeit prophets who will SAY and PERFORM great signs and wonders to deceive everyone into thinking that The Christ that is being spoken of is Jesus Christ when in fact it’s Satan

    Hi Deborah. Good article. Tony Palmer’s death is shrouded in mystery. My personal opinion is that it was a ‘Jesuit job’ once they had no further use for him.
    Although the chap in the video dealing with Palmer has some good things to say, are you aware that he quotes Ellen White more than once and is probably a SDA adherent?
    Re the links between Rome and Pentecostalism, I find it interesting that on the same day Agnes Ozman began babbling in demonic tongues in Kansas under Charles Parham’s ‘ministry’, the Pope of that era “invoked” the Holy Spirit to manifest Himself in the earth. Considering the spirit behind the Papacy, it looks like he got what he was wanting. Satan has devastated huge numbers of deceived believers and false converts on the earth with the delusion of the Pentecostal/charismatic renewal, millions of whom are happily marching arm in arm with Rome as we speak- with the aid of Angus.

    Nope that’s just the name of the article. If it was a quote I would have said, Angus says “It’s Time to Unite All Faiths under Rome”.

    Let me put the record straight…nobody in the world has more reason to know the real Angus than me. My connection to what Angus and his wife Jill has done and hurt the very core of my soul and my struggle to forgive him and her goes beyond all human expectation. This is very real and true.

    Some people will fall on their backs of what I’m prepared to disclose privately to individual persons that are sincere and trustworthy…I can prove it…my family knows this and so do a lot of my friends but even they by pass it because the wof movement of which a lot of them have fallen victim to and or are influenced by and are blinded by some sort of deceptive spirit that misrepresents the gift of the real Holy Spirit given to us by the Lord Jesus Christ….the Saviour who called this mystical part of His union with the Father the Comforter.

    Angus and Jill have skeletons in their cupboards.

    He talks about forgiveness and repentance of masses…a whole country that must turn from their wicked ways and he is right this country is very wicked…full of corruption…wickedness …total lawlessness abounds…but so does it in other countries but in different forms. But forgiveness and restitution starts in small packages. He talks about restitution and forgiveness between fathers and sons and in families as a whole with our neighbours, fellowmen , business associates and rifted friendships as well but has failed to fixed a genuine rift and actually lied about it…he even wrote about it and continues to.

    All this is the absolute truth but I am not going to disclose this information on a public forum because that creates sensationalism…but anybody who is genuinely concerned I will tell my true story… Deb’s knows the story and I will give her permission to forward to individuals she can discern that can be trusted.

    This is the truth…some people have found Angus very “fishy” and some think it’s jealousy and charo’s and word of faith believers defend him because they are blinded and celebrity people worshippers.

    Something I want to add…Jill loved me…I was an irresponsible person in my marriage to her…she was justified in leaving me but I came to Christ genuinely after that and did CHANGE…her sister Lesley knew that…and herself tried to side with me in Salisbury to get her back…her parents hated me and were against me from the start of our marriage and manipulated their daughter to divorce me…she had pressure from them and never believed in the changing influence of the Lord Jesus in my life…they were very religious people but without Christ. Her father had worked at the leper colony in Zambia and was an ordained Anglican lay preacher and her mother worshipped in the Methodist church,,,they were very judgmental…they hated me and forced the divorce…I had very little spare money then due to the fact I had resigned from my job and spent what resources I had traveling back and forth to a far away place to bring the person I loved more than anything else back,

    Jill was a very lovely and beautiful girl with incredible artistic talent then…a very quiet person but very deep…I loved her madly.

    She now hides those deep things…I surmise her love for me turned to hate and secretly lives a tormented life. I do not believe faith like potatoes at all.

    We cannot turn the clock back and must take responsibility for our actions…I love my present wife dearly…she is a very good person and trustworthy with integrity…she is not only my lover but my best friend.

    But the whole things a mess and very complicated…the Lord warned us of DIVORCE…a very serious issue unfortunately not taken seriously today amongst Christians…a very serious matter…a hell on earth and it’s consequences for all those involved…very evil.

    Angus and Jill need to repent first of all of many things…discern for yourselves.

    I was married to Jill, in 1969, now Angus Buchan’s wife and we had 2 children…Andrew and Lindi.

    Jill and I were married in Durban just after my mother died of cancer in March 1969 and Andrew was born on the 11th March 1970 at Mothers Hospital In Durban.

    Jill and I moved later to Somerset West in the Cape and Lindi was born a year and one day later at the False Bay Hospital on the 12th March 1971.

    We were married far too young and we had problems…mainly my own fault and Jill left me and went to her parents home in Iris Street, Kabwe, Zambia in November 1971 and would not come back…I traveled twice from Cape Town to Zambia to try and woo her back but to no avail…I even moved to Rhodesia and got a sales job in Salisbury.
    Despite my restitution efforts her parents prevented her from leaving and pressurized a divorce. I fought the divorce and Jill was not able to divorce me but the case went on and on…after a year in Rhodesia…I decided (not my desire…advice from erroneous church… to give her a divorce believing that if the pressure was off, she would come back and we could get remarried…she wrote a letter to me saying she still loved me…I had to say falsely (shows you how the courts are) that I did not want my wife back) a huge lie …because obviously did …I’m guilty of that…and paid heavily for that…I loved her desperately and this is the rotten advice I listened to from my peers…the so-called Christian council,. I returned to Cape Town and still waited for Jill…but she changed her mind under suspicious circumstances.

    Anyway it seemed that she met a farmer in Zambia, Angus Buchan and they got married.

    This is the absolute truth and Angus Buchan’s book and movie “Faith Like Potatoes” is full of lies…page 18…my son and daughter were born there in Zambia is a lie for a start…

    I only found Andrew and Lindi after many years when they were in Greytown by accident…they were 16 and 15 at school. I tried to establish a relationship with them but did not succeed…Angus had stolen their affections and there was a lot of untruth told. They were still in my surname then but Andrew asked me if I would allow him to change his surname to Buchan…while they still at school. I initially stalled on this and eventually allowed him to do so. They were NEVER adopted only a name change.

    Furthermore Angus uses scriptures…out of context to suit himself without regard for others feelings…after stealing my son and daughter affections…he quotes this scripture falsely and totally out of context (shows his manipulative qualities and why naive and trusting but ignorant follow him…

    (Angus quoted the above scripture to me inferring that he was the “true” parent because he cared for Andrew and Lindi more than I did…this just shows you how manipulative and insensetive he is and will use scripture totally out of context to justify himself.)

  23. Either Cornelia is willfully ignorant or she is just plain ignorant. The fact is that Angus Buchan has a vision, and that vision is to encourage all the various denominations to put aside their petty differences (doctrinal issues), as he put it, and to come together as one. He is always so raucously sure that God is going to heal people in their seats without him having to pray or lay his hands on them. Where’s the humility in that? Where’s the “If God is willing?” etc. Where does he get this nonsense from? I can assure you he does NOT GET IT FROM THE BIBLE OR FROM JESUS. A medical doctor (whom I believe should be scrapped) told him that more than 90% of all diseases are psychosomatic in nature. In other words, it is all in the mind. Anyone who loves to don his thinking cap will immediately see that Angus Buchan is accusing Jesus of having healed psychosomatic diseases instead of genuine ones like leprosy etc. He is making a mockery of Jesus. But then again, the Jesus he is worshiping and praying to is not the Jesus of the Bible but another Jesus.

    I always thought Stephan Joubert is the most dangerous man in South Africa. I was wrong. Angus Buchan is because he is encouraging people to follow a different Jesus than the one in the Bible. Buchan’s Jesus is merely a magician who can be manipulated at will to heal psychosomatic diseases at mega “It’s Time” meetings like the one on 22 April 2017.

    In a video I watched recently, Dave Hunt says that rat poison consists of more than 90% nourishing ingredients while only a very small ingredient is poisonous. That’s to fool the rats to think that the poison is NOT poisonous but wholesome nourishing food. Angus Buchan may be preaching repentance toward God, faith in Jesus and so forth but the very core theme of all his messages is physical healing. What does the Bible say?

    Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. In what’s being called a historic declaration, evangelicals including Pat Robertson and Charles Colson [one of the chief originators] joined with conservative Roman Catholic leaders today in upholding the ties of faith that bind the nation’s largest and most politically active religious groups. They urged Catholics and evangelicals… to stop aggressive proselytization of each other’s flocks.

    John White, president of Geneva College and former president of the National Association of Evangelicals, said the statement represents a “triumphalistic moment” in American religious life after centuries of distrust….

    Other evangelical endorsers include the heads of the Home Mission Board and Christian Life Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention [who acted in an independent capacity], the nation’s largest Protestant denomination, and Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ…. Mark Noll of Wheaton University… [Os Guinness, Jesse Miranda (Assemblies of God), Richard Mouw (President, Fuller Theological Seminary), J.I. Packer and Herbert Schlossberg].

    Robert Simonds, Southern California chairman of the National Association of Evangelicals, “applauded the declaration” and said he hoped it would bring “increased cooperation between evangelicals and Catholics….” Other evangelical leaders have since signed the declaration, while still others have denounced it as a betrayal of the Reformation. Ironically, this bold move to “unite Catholics and evangelicals” will divide evangelicals as nothing else could—and as its endorsers must have realized.

    The 25-page document acknowledges, without compromise, some key differences between Catholics and evangelicals (such as the significance of baptism and the authority of Scripture). Unfortunately, the most important difference— what it means to be a Christian—is not mentioned. In fact, that such a difference even exists is denied. This compromise of the gospel lies at the heart of the agreement.

    The key element behind this historic joint declaration is the previously unthinkable admission on the part of leading evangelicals that active participation in the Catholic Church makes one a Christian. If that is indeed the case, then the Reformation was a tragic mistake. The millions who were martyred (during a thousand years before the Reformation and since then to the present time) for rejecting Catholicism as a false gospel have all died in vain. If, however, the Reformers were right, then this new agreement between Catholics and evangelicals could well be the cleverest and deadliest blow struck against the gospel in the entire history of the church. Either way, the consequences are staggering. In praising the joint declaration, one leading evangelical declared:

    (This document] has the potential to recast all the ecumenical discussions that have gone on through the years…. This is a new day. Our closest friends, as evangelicals, in the cultural task and in the fundamental theological task, are Roman Catholics.’

    The theological differences between Catholics and Protestants were once considered to be so great that millions died as martyrs rather than compromise them, and their Catholic executioners were equally convinced of the importance of such differences. How have these differences been dissolved? What has happened to cause leading evangelicals to declare that Catholicism’s gospel, which the Reformers denounced as heretical, is now biblical? That gospel hasn’t changed. Has conviction been compromised to create a huge coalition among conservatives for social and political action?

    Evangelicals would decry the complacent attitude that everyone actively involved in a Protestant church is a Christian. How then did evangelical leaders consent to the view that all active Catholics are Christians and not to be evangelized? The document explains that both Catholics and evangelicals endorse the Apostles’ Creed: that Christ “suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.” That creed, however, like the Nicean and other creeds, does not express the gospel that saves (Romans 1:16): that “Christ died for our sins (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Mormons affirm the Apostles’ Creed, but they aren’t biblical Christians. Nor does embracing the Creed make Catholics (or Protestants) Christians. Furthermore, what Catholics mean by Christ dying for their sins is entirely different from an evangelical understanding of this truth, as we shall see in later pages. (Emphasis mine)

    Whereas Roman Catholicism was once the official state religion and the practice of all others was prohibited throughout Latin America and most of Europe, that is no longer the case. Therefore Rome uses other strategies. In some countries, such as France, the Catholic Church is pressuring the government to make it illegal to “proselytize”—exactly what the endorsers of this joint pact have agreed upon. In other places the Catholic Church is demanding that evangelicals sign an agreement similar to the one just signed here in the United States. A recent news report declared:

    Stunned by the staggering growth of evangelical “sects” in Brazil, leaders of the Roman Catholic Church have threatened to launch a “holy war” against Protestants unless they stop leading people from the Catholic fold…. At the 31st National Conference of the Bishops of Brazil… Bishop Sinesio Bohn [called] evangelicals a serious threat to the Vatican’s influence in his country.

    “We will declare a holy war; don’t doubt it,” he announced. “The Catholic Church has a ponderous structure, but when we move, we’ll smash anyone beneath us.”… According to Bohn, an all-out holy war can’t be avoided unless the 13 largest Protestant churches and denominations sign a treaty… [that] would require Protestants to stop all evangelism efforts in Brazil. In exchange, he said. Catholics would agree to stop all persecution directed toward Protestants.2

    The bishop admits that persecution of Protestants is still official policy. The extent of that persecution throughout history (which we will document) would greatly surprise both Catholics and Protestants. It is important to note that the concern at the bishops’ conference was not the truth of the gospel or the salvation of souls, but maintaining the influence of the Vatican and keeping people in the Catholic Church.

    Note too that the very treaty which Bishop Bohn demands under threat in Brazil has been granted in the United States by Colson, Packer, Bright, Robertson, et al! That Bohn’s threats influenced American evangelical leaders is evident from Col-son’s statement in an interview that he and the other signatories to the document had become “distressed by the clashes arising from the growth of evangelical Protestantism in traditionally Catholic Latin America…. “3

    While evangelicals sign a truce, Rome is stepping up its evangelization of Protestants into the Catholic Church. Rome’s “Evangelization 2000” has six evangelism training confer¬ences scheduled just for 1994 across America involving such groups as “Paulist Evangelization Training Institutes” (in Washington D.C. during June 26-30 and July 24-28) and “The Association of Coordinators of Catholic Schools of Evangelization” (during August 3-6, also in Washington). These are serious training sessions for leaders in what they specify as “Catholic evangelism.” Charles Colson was a featured speaker at the “John Paul II and the New Evangelization: Implementing the Vision” conference in Ypsilanti, Michigan, held during May 11-14. He shared the podium with Catholic leaders such as Fr. Tom Forrest, who heads “Evangelization 2000” out of the Vatican.4

    The evangelical leaders who signed the joint declaration apparently imagined a spiritual partnership with Catholics to win the world to Christ. “Evangelism” for evangelicals means leading people to Christ. For Catholics, however, it means bringing people into the Roman Catholic Church—something which the joint agreement neglected to state. Consider the following explanation of “Catholic evangelism” by Fr. Tom Forrest to a group of Catholic charismatics:

    Our job is to make people as richly and as fully Christian as we can make them by bringing them into the Catholic Church. So evangelization is never fully successful, it’s only partial, until the convert is made a member of Christ’s body by being led into the [Catholic] Church.

    Now listen again to the words of [Pope] Paul VI. Now this is a document every one of you should have in your homes… called “On Evangelization in the Modern World.” This is what the Pope says: “The commitment of someone newly evangelized cannot remain abstract (‘Oh, I’m a Christian,’ now that’s too abstract)… it must be given concrete and visible form through entry… into the [Catholic] Church our visible sacrament of salvation.”

    I like saying those words; I’m going to say them again:
    “Our visible sacrament of salvation!” That’s what the Church is, and if that is what the Church is, we have to be evangelizing into the Church!…

    No, you don’t just invite someone to become a Christian, you invite them to become Catholics… Why would this be so important? First of all, there are seven sacraments, and the Catholic Church has all seven…. On our altars we have the body of Christ; we drink the blood of Christ. Jesus is alive on our altars, as offering…. We become one with Christ in the Eucharist….

    As Catholics we have Mary, and that Mom of ours, Queen of Paradise, is praying for us till she sees us in glory.

    As Catholics we have the papacy, a history of popes from Peter to John Paul II… we have the rock upon which Christ did build His Church.

    As Catholics—now I love this one—we have purgatory. Thank God! I’m one of those people who would never get to the Beatific Vision without it. It’s the only way to go….

    So as Catholics… our job is to use this remaining decade evangelizing everyone we can info the Catholic Church, into the body of Christ and into the third millennium of Catholic history.5

    Yet in spite of such clear explanations of Roman Catholic “evangelism,” evangelicals are participating with Catholics in joint evangelistic efforts. For the Catholic, salvation does not come through personally receiving Christ as Savior but is a lengthy process that begins with baptism and thereafter depends upon one’s continued relationship to the Church. Salvation comes through participation in the sacraments, penance, good works, suffering for one’s sins and the sins of others here and/or in purgatory, indulgences to reduce time in purgatory, and almost endless masses and Rosaries said on one’s behalf even after one’s death. Catholic “evangelism” is by works, the very antithesis of “the gospel of the grace of God” (Acts 20:24).

    Nevertheless, many Catholics, when they hear the true biblical gospel of God’s grace, are receiving Christ as personal Savior. Such Catholic Christians eventually struggle with the conflict between Roman Catholicism and what they now realize the Bible teaches—a conflict so marked that the vast majority find it impossible to remain in the Catholic Church. Many Protestants are equally in doubt over the question of what their relationship to Catholics ought to be.

    Confusion now surrounds the issues which were involved at the Reformation. The purpose of this book is to present vital, factual information which throws essential light upon the whole question of Catholic/Protestant relationships. The vast majority of both Catholics and Protestants are ignorant of the pertinent facts. It is our hope and prayer that the following pages will help to clarify the issues and dispel the confusion.

    The deception and blindness is truly great. The dominionists would now appear to be the face of so-called ‘protestant Christianity’. They are reportedly the fastest growing ‘Christian’ movement in the world. Angus claims only God could bring together the multitude which turned up last Saturday for his spiritual sideshow (and-by the way- repentance on behalf of others, even those of previous generations, is a key teaching of the New Apostolic Reformation). He forgets that the god of this world has numbers on his side- he deceives nations and keeps the majority of humanity on the wide road which leads to destruction.

    Angus seems so hell-bent on seeing and experiencing so-called miracles that it makes no difference to him how these so-called miracles are brought about. Would he and the mainstream media have been so excited if a single lost soul was saved while kneeling in his or her room and begging for mercy? I know what the angels in heaven do when a single soul is saved.

    Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. (Luk 15:10)

    Instead, Angus boasts:-

    “Here I stand looking at a miracle. The face I am seeing… It is just a miracle. Today we are making history, because people said it was impossible to organize such a gathering in six weeks. But here we stand today. What a Jesus miracle!” -Angus Buchan

    It’s all about showing people what can be done in the name of Angus Buchan, and then he has the audacity to call it a “Jesus miracle.”

    When I heard Angus Buchan “preach” the very first time some years ago, I warned a few of my Christian friends. They got so angry with me that they turned their backs on me never to speak to me again.

    Who gets the glory for organizing such a huge gathering in six weeks? Well, of course, Angus and his organizers. They were the ones who wrought the miracle.

    Imagine for a moment what Jesus would have said to his disciples if they had organized a Christian rally in Rome and said,

    “We are tired of people (of Rome) taking the law into their own hands. We are going to call upon the Lord to bring justice, peace and hope to our beloved Israel.”

    Instead, they rejoiced when they were counted worthy to suffer for his Name’s sake (Acts 5:41).

    Many people were saved under the preaching of the apostles and yet the violence under Rome did not cease. Multitudes of Christians were slaughtered in the Colosseum in Rome. Many years ago a missionary told me how he overheard a woman who had been suffering a lot under Mugabe’s regime, praying “Thank you, Lord Jesus, for Mugabe and the suffering he is causing in our country because it brings us much closer to you.” I imagine that she would never be welcome in one of Buchan’s huge rallies.

    A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign (miracles, signs, and wonders); and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. (Mat 16:4)

    I don’t know whether the preacher in this video is a Calvinist. He mentions John MacArthur and John Piper as being sound preachers. Nevertheless what he says about Angus Buchan is spot-on.
