The Farce of Women’s Day – 9 August
The Farce of Women’s Day
Women’s days has come and gone (9 August) with much fanfare, media exposure and, believe it or not, the glossy accolades of well-known leaders who’d been accused of raping women in the past. South Africa seems to be the only country in the entire world where men of esteem in both governmental en non-governmental institutes can be charged with rape and come off scott free, and then sanctimoniously participate in Women’s Day without any compunction whatsoever. Indeed, some of them have even managed to reach the highest office in government while they were virtually caught with their pants down in an HIV free shower cubicle (read here).
These days it’s honky-dory to have extra-marital relationships when the sexual act is consensual. John the Baptist would certainly have lost his head again if he’d been alive and scolded Jacob Zuma, saying: ” . . . It is not lawful for thee to have thy deceased friend’s daughter.” Or, he could even have lost his head a second and third time telling WF de Klerk: “It is not lawful for thee to have an extra marital affair with Elita Georgiades.”
Another rape case that is making headlines in South Africa is that of the Cosato General Secretary, Zwelinzima Vavi. Although the woman who claims to having been raped by Vavi has withdrawn her charge, he has been asked to resign (read here). Should we be amazed at these atrocious deeds of esteemed men when South Africa is called “the rapeland of planet Earth?”
Let’s look at some statistics which will prove that Women’s Day in South Africa is nothing but a farce. The following report shows that rape is much worse than terrorism.
On Valentine’s Day, when the world celebrates the positive aspects of sexual love, it is beyond disturbing to realise that, by the time you have read this article, at least twowomen will have been raped in South Africa. That is because, on average, a woman is raped every four minutes in the country.
In fact, various media reports last year stated that Interpol named South Africa as the world’s rape capital, and said women were more likely to be raped than educated. A 2009 Medical Research Council study found that one in four South African men admitted to raping a woman.
Despite these frightening statistics, experts said while rape in South Africa is common, it barely makes the news. The last massive public outcry was about a year ago, when a 17-year-old mentally disabled girl from Soweto was gang raped by young men who videotaped her and offered her 25 cents to keep quiet.
However, the recent death of 17-year-old Anene Booysen, who was gang raped, mutilated and left for dead, has stirred the wrath of South Africans frustrated by a national epidemic of sexual violence.
Yale World Fellow, Sisonke Msimang from Sonke Gender Justice Network expressed the emotions many South Africans feel: “I will cry, as I have been already this morning. And maybe, I will begin to feel my way out of the lurching, heavy knowing after I have spoken with others. With the mothers and the sisters, the brothers and fathers – those like me, who have girls … Anene was raped and mutilated because she was a girl. It was her vagina and her breasts that they wanted to destroy. It was her walk and her talk. It was her girl-ness. These parts of her were broken and sliced and pulled apart, not by monsters, but by friends. Each of her ten fingers were broken.” (Read the full article here).
In another article it is alleged that there are 3600 rapes in South Africa everyday and Angus Buchan audaciously boasts that there is a revival in South Africa? RUBBISH!
In South Africa, 144 women report rape to police every day – that is six cases reported every hour. While the number of reported rape incidents is shocking, under-reporting is an even bigger problem. The Medical Research Council’s (MRC) latest research reveals that only one in 25 women in Gauteng report rape. Extrapolated, up to 3 600 women could be raped in the country every day.
South Africa’s latest crime statistics revealed a decrease in reported sexual crimes but in the small town of Bredasdorp where Anene Booysen, 17, was gang-raped and murdered, sexual crimes have increased. The brutality of Booysen’s rape and murder has sent shockwaves throughout the country. Crime statistics released last year for the period April 2011 to March 2012 show there were 64 514 sexual crime cases reported to police, down from 66 196 the year before. This is not only sickening but satanic to its very core. Women have always been Satan’s main target for humiliation and destruction and it is not so difficult to understand why. God used a woman to bring our Saviour into the world and since the very beginning has focused his wrath on women. The sad thing is that men who are supposed to honour, cherish, protect and love their own wives and not get involved in illicit sexual affairs with other women, are his main instruments in his sadistic attempts to humiliate and destroy women. Young male children who look up to their leaders easily fall prey to the very same sexual sins when they say to themselves: “If Zuma and Vavi and others can do it and get away with it, so can we. We are the masters of the women in our society.” Indeed, Wikipedia reports:
The South African government reports that one of these reasons is the culture of patriarchy in South Africa. Its report states that patriarchy is firmly rooted in the country and fighting it is seen as attempting to destroy South African tradition or South African ideals. (Read here).
Rubbish!! The Israelites in the Old Testament also had a patriarchal system but they summarily stoned rapists. In fact, rapists should be hanged but they cannot be executed in a country that has abolished the death sentence. Convenient for those in high echelon positions? You bet!
Muslim boys in particular are taught from a very early age that they are the masters of the women. It is not I who say so but their own holy books, the Quran and the Hadith. By the way, Muslims made a very special effort to demonstrate their solidarity with Women’s Day on the SABC news channels without exposing their own insipid views on women.
Where does this hatred for women in Islam come from? Read the following quotes and you will be amazed, but maybe not so amazed. This is from their own holy book, the Qur’an.
Surah 4:34
Sahih International
Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband’s] absence what Allah would have them guard. But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance – [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand. (Emphasis added).
The following is a well-known incident that all of the most esteemed Muslim historians refer to in their books (refer: Imam al-Nawawi: Riyad al-Salihin, “The Orchards of Righteous Men.” P. 107-108.)
“Umar Ibn al-Khattab came to Muhammad saying, ‘Women have dared to disobey husbands.’ He allowed their husbands to scourge them. Many women approached Muhammad complaining against their husbands because Muhammad received a verse for the Qur’an which commands their husbands to scourge them.” (Emphasis added)
In the Kash-shaf (The Revealer) by al-Zamakhshari (Vol. 1, p. 525), the following shocking incident is related:
“On the authority of Muhammad (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him), he said: ‘Hang up your scourge in a place where your wife (or wives) can see it.'” (Emphasis added).
Asmaa, the daughter of Abu Bakr El Sedik, exposed these atrocities as follows. (“Beyond the Veil, Unmasking Islam” by Abd El Schafi, Pioneer Book Company 2001).
“I was the fourth wife (among four) of al-Zabauyr Ibn al-Awwam. Whenever he became angry at one of us he struck us with a hook rod until it was broken.” (Emphasis added)
Many contemporary Muslim historians confirm these atrocities against women. In the book “You ask and Islam Answers” (p.94) Abdul-Latif Mushtahiri says the following:
“If admonishing and sexual desertion fail to bring forth results and the woman is of a cold and stubborn type, the Qur’an bestows on the man the right to straighten her out by way of punishment and beating provided he does not break her bones nor shed her blood. Many a wife belongs to this querulous type and requires this sort of punishment to bring her to her senses.” (Emphasis added).
Many Muslim husbands don’t seem to obey Allah and their prophet Muhuammad when you look at the videos given above.
In his book, “The Individual Guarantee in the Islamic Law” (p. 63), Ahmad Ahmad, a professor at the University of Qatar, says the following under the title “Family Problems and Solutions.”
“If a woman is afraid that her husband may turn away from her or detest her, she will hasten to bring understanding and reconciliation. But if the husband is afraid that his wife may rebel against him, he hastens to bring mutual understanding by means of exhortation, then by abandonment of the bed, then by scourging which deters.”
According to the Qur-an Allah appointed the man to be master over women because they are are more superior to them. On page 19 the Jalalan declares:
“Men have been given authority over women to discipline and control them by the merits of knowledge, intelligence and custody, etc., which God bestowed on some over others.”
On page 11 the Jalalan says:
“God preferred men over women, and the reason for the bestowing on this verse (4:34) is a well-known episode which says that a man from the helpers beat his wife, whose name was habiba, the daughter of Zayd. Her father took her to the apostle of God (to complain). Muhammad said: ‘Let us punish him.’ But God sent down this verse 4:34. The woman returned home without having her husband punished. Muhammad said: ‘I intended to do something (that is, to punish the man), but God willed otherwise, and what God wills is better.'”
Indeed, what God wills is much better, but then it must be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ because He wills only the best for his creatures. This is what He wills:
Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:1-12)
Women’s Day will only cease to be a farce when it is celebrated in the Light of the world – JESUS CHRIST, THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD.
This is what happens when you walk in darkness.
