    >> perhaps they have moved away from those roots hopefully.

Nope, this is not true, the fact is if you go and search for what they really believe you will find these false doctrines as the fundamental basics of that they believe. A quick search on Stand up for the Truth reveals this: http://standupforthetruth.com/2014/07/divide/ also read the comments section.

You can’t take anyone at face value. The problem with Calvinism is that the sounds so good on the outside but inside it’s rotten to the core. When they preach salvation (they actually mean God chose some to be Elect and others to go to hell (Predestination), when they preach Jesus Christ sacrificial death on the cross (they mean He only died for the Elect). When they preach about one getting saved (they mean that God has to regenerate the Elect before you can believe). What they say and what they mean is to different things.

Calvinism is a very very destructive and evil cult, many people fall into it’s clutches and can’t get out.

    >> It is nice finally to ask questions and be given some direction though as I have questions but have not got anyone to ask.

Yes, that is why we are here, to help with questions and also give virtual fellowship to genuine Christians through this website 🙂

    Hi Deborah, hope you good.

i just read the “Holy Spirit” discussion. Very intense conversation. i have noticed that the pentecostal church, assemblies of God etc are being criticised. may i be so forward as to ask to which denomination you belong? appreciate your input.

  7. Saretta

I do not belong to a denomination, I am a born again Christian as simple at that.

Full Gospel is nothing but Word of Faith and so is Assemblies of God who speak in tongues etc. Apostolic Faith Mission is Latter Rain movement.

The Pentecostal scene is actually nothing but Roman Catholicism under disguise, please read: https://www.discerningtheworld.com/2010/03/29/the-new-evangelical-evil-fit-for-a-new-dark-age/ That is why you now have Pentecostalism and The Roman Catholic church merging into one. They were the same from the beginning.

    EMAIL FROM PIETER

    Dear Tom and Deborah.’

Ek het iets wat my nou al lankal in my gedagtes rond dwaal.

Asb verduidelik dit vir my.

    Groete
    Pieter

    ENGLISH TRANSLATION

    Dear Tom and Deborah.

I have something that I already long in my mind wander. It comes and goes.

I am a Christian and believe and confess that Jesus Christ is our savior and the only geboorne Son of Almighty God.

I also believe that God is almighty, all-seeing, all-knowing and omnipresent is.Now I would clarify want to get:

    1. Satan is not omnipotent, I believe, but how can he seduce someone in America and cause to sin and at the same time someone else in South Africa also commit sins, and likewise in all the other countries at the same time . Please explain it to me.

    2. We are not fighting against flesh and blood but against evil forces. Well as Satan evil forces to make us sin, there should be millions and millions. Where do they come from, because of my knowledge of the Bible has been the Angels that with Satan kicked out of heaven into exile. They are in chains. Where does the evil forces come from and who is hulle. Sover I read the Bible I anywhere that by fallen angels fight, but against evil forces.

I would appreciate if any of you can give me light on this subject.
Thank you for your selfless work that you do to inform us and to send out warning.

May the Lord bless and keep.

  9. Dear Pieter

When Satan was kicked out of heaven he was cast down to earth (Isaiah 14:12) and resides in our atmosphere – he is called the “prince of the power of the air” in (Ephesians 2:2) and he is the “ruler of this world” in (John 12:31). We are also told that and “innumerable company of angels” / one third followed him out of heaven (Hebrews 12:22) and also reside in earth’s atmosphere. John saw this happen, “…an enormous red dragon…His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth…the great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him” (Revelation 12:3-9).

    They are not locked up, or in hell in chains. There are only a handful of angels that when they left their abode in heaven did something really bad and God cast them down to hell and are locked up in chains. 2 Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

Fallen angels are demons or evil forces. And Satan roams this earth (as does all his demonic angels) 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Believers are no longer under the rule of Satan (Colossians 1:13). Unbelievers, are caught “in the snare of the devil” (2 Timothy 2:26), are in bondage to Satan (Ephesians 2:2) and lie in the “power of the evil one” (1 John 5:19), .

Having said that, we can’t blame all our sin on Satan, we too sin because our hearts are sinful. Yes, the devil and his demons tempt us to sin (Genesis 3; Luke 4; 1 Peter 5:8) But “the devil made me do it” excuse can’t be used as we blame Satan and his demons for our own sinful ways. James 1:14 “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.”

    Good Morning

Have you ever heard of the “speaker” Andre du Preez. I tried to find him on internet but failed to do so.

A friend told me about him after I shared your blog with him. He mentioned a few things Andre said and I am quite interested in getting hold of him.

    Regards

  12. blank Sonja says:

Have you heard of a man called Andre du Preez? If you have, can you tell me what you know about him?

  13. blank Celia says:

I received the following book: SHAMA – A Daily Walk of Listening and Obeying by Sarah Jubilee. I scanned through it today and already saw the red lights. “New” revelation that apparently sounds good on the ear but the Spirit is warning me about unbiblical things/ideas/revelations in the book. I would like to know your thoughts on it if maybe you know something about the book?

  14. Hi Celia,

May I ask what it was that made you see red lights when you read Sarah Jubilee’s book “Shama?” I don’t know much about her and will have to do some research before I can comment.

She describes herself as a theologian, author and prophetess. The latter already causes uneasiness. She has had several so-called prophecies about the Rapture. She relies heavily on God speaking to her personally in an audible voice (in dreams and visions) instead of through his Word. That’s very dangerous to say the least.

Read here what she says about dreams.

  15. Sonja,

I have never heard of Andre du Preez. The only Andre du Preez I could find, was one in Hermanus who describes himself, among other things, as a motivational speaker (ughhhhh). Hermanus seems to be a hub for false teachers and teaching. Sarah Jubilee, the prophetess who claims to hear God audibly in her dreams and visions, also lives in Hermanus.

  16. Sonja,

Could you please provide us with some of the thins Andre du Preez said? That would be the only way to see whether he is biblical or not.

  17. blank Celia says:

    Tom,

I paged through the book already concerned about exclusive revelation (isn’t the Word of God enough revelation?): all the false religions seem to be build on revelation given exlcusively to one person. It smells of nowadays “meditation” practised by people professing to be Christians. This kind of meditation equals Eastern meditation where one enters into a “spiritual realm” to meet so-called spirit guides. Many things “revealed” to her is already in the Word and some do not align with Scripture (2 Cor 6:14) (although according to her “source” of revelation, the Bible that we have today is not the same as the Book being shown to her for apparently there are many things inside that Book that is not inside our Bible today).

I read the part on page 236 (low on page titled “One New Man”)”Those who are in religion and those who are in a covenant relationship with Me are like a man and a bride who needs to come into unity so that they can be the one new. man. This is waht I have called you for, to teach the religious about intimacy with Me so that My people can be restored as one new man.”

Now: We cannot teach a person who is not born again about intimacy with the Lord. We first need to Evangelize them and when they came to Christ we can teach them about intimacy with the Lord. The religious cannot be united with the born again believers to become a new man. It sounds like practising the spiritual disciplines of Ignatius Loyola to come to Christ. Not Biblical, but New Age doctrine.

I am cautious whenever someone claims exclusive revelations: Gal 1:8 But even we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. See also Col 2:18.

I hoped that maybe someone else in the body of Christ has already encountered the book to make a study to warn the Body when the enemy comes as an “angel of the light”.

I thank the Lord for your work in the Body of Christ.

  18. Thanks Celia, you have summed it up well. The Bible is sufficient and there’s no need to receive visions, dreams and prophecies to guide us in God’s truth.

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: (2 Pe 1:3)

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Ti 3:16-17).

  19. Celia

    >> page 236 “One New Man” “Those who are in religion and those who are in a covenant relationship with Me are like a man and a bride who needs to come into unity so that they can be the one new. man. This is waht I have called you for, to teach the religious about intimacy with Me so that My people can be restored as one new man.”

Those words ‘one new man’ raises the hair on my neck. Thank you for commenting about this book, someone is sure to come across your comment and read what you have to say about it.

Here is a link to the book http://thebigstorysa.com/index.php/stories/featured/shama. This is paganism disguised as a new type of Christianity in it’s truest form. According to the authors genuine Christianity, the church, the bible, it’s pastors, everything about it is fruitless, you need to find the Christ within, your goddess within and that way you will become fruitful.

Celia maybe if possible if you are on facebook you can post a link to this comment here: http://thebigstorysa.com/index.php/stories/featured/shama – I am not on facebook.

  20. Hi Sonja

Tom is right, could you please provide us with some of the things Andre du Preez has said that has made it so important that you try contact him – this way Tom and I can comment on any questions that you have with sound doctrine.

  21. blank Celia says:

    Hi Tom, Deborah

Thank you for the link you supplied. I will see what it says. Unfortunately I am not on Facebook. Maybe someone who reads here can put the info on Facebook. I pray and believe that God through His Spirit will warn His children about the misleading. Someone who is not born again does not have the Spirit of God to guide him/her (1 Cor 2:14-15). I am so cautious of “books” out there. We got rid of most “religious” books on our shelves as we have come to the conclusion that the Word is enough and the Spirit is our teacher (1 John 2:27) and God in his wisdom gave gifts to the believers = body of Christ to help us with discernment.

Let us pray constantly for our brothers and sisters in Christ to practise discernment and heed the warnings of fellow believers; study the Scriptures and test the spirits (Acts 17:11, 1 John 4).

Hallo Deborah, some time ago I wrote this, thought I would share it with you, because more and more I hear (even Christians) using this word:
    KARMA
    If you believe in “karma”,
your belief in a Sovereign God (and God alone) is very very swallow and in danger,
because “karma” includes your “previous lives”
(so if you talk, mention or believe in “karma”,
    you believe in reincarnation,
which is NOT in the Bible and
NOT part of the “real” Christian Faith.
    blessings!

  27. Hi Cecilia

That is very true, and I know a lot of ‘Christians’ say this, not realizing what they are actually saying. They unknowingly deny God by using that one single word.

Thank you for your comment 🙂

  28. blank kelli says:

I found this website because someone sent me teachings by Rebecca Brown and I Googled her. Found your article about her. Looked around a bit, and here I am.

I am a very lost person. Christianity seems so complex and overwhelming. I have dealt with a lot of abuse and false teaching from my father as I was growing up. Had a friend who invited me to Church with her and so started my quest to find God. I gave up after a while and fell into some serious sins as a teen. I idolized my boyfriend and got pregnant by him. He abused me mentally and emotionally for years.

I tried to seek God when my fornication sin grieved me. I felt a burden to follow OT food laws and became legalistic. I was diagnosed with OCD. I couldn’t take it. I lasted 1 year. I told God if this was how being a Christian was, I wanted no part, so I ran away for years.

Right now my life is a mess again. In Jan. 2015 I decided I couldn’t take it anymore, I just hit the ground running, looking for God. I was confronted with some heinous sins of my past, which, unfortunately doomed me to recommit them. :/ I dealt with a lot of sorrow and hopelessness. Darkest year of my life, but I am still here.

It’s getting bad again. That boyfriend turned into my husband, and he cheats on me a lot. He is currently living with another woman and I fear I have turned to idolizing him again. I thought I had surrendered my life to Christ a few months ago but now I’m not so sure. I don’t know what to do. I feel tormented daily by despair and hopelessness.

Someone told me I need deliverance healing. Maybe I am under some generational curse. My father is a meth addict who abused me while calling himself a Christian. My mom dabbles in the occult. I have no idea what sin even is, or what God expects me to do right this moment. I feel a lot of fear. Someone told me God is waiting for another level of surrender from me. What does that mean? Am I on the fence not really saved like I thought I was? I am terrified. Someone please help me. What am I to do? I’ve been so angry at God lately and I feel like my heart is growing cold and hard.

  29. Hi Kelli

First of all, I want to remind you that nothing is impossible with Jesus. When his disciples asked Him, “Who then can be saved?” He answered, “With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” It simply means that we cannot save ourselves, be it through food laws or any other legalism, another level of surrender, deliverance ministries, or dealing with generational curses. None of these things can save you. He alone can save sinners. The second thing to realize is that He loves you so intensely that He died for you on the cross, rose from the dead for you, ascended into heaven in your behalf and is now seated at the right hand of the Father in your behalf where He is praying for your redemption.

The next important thing for you to realize, is that you are already in that particular position where God wants you to be. Allow me to explain. You said: “I am a very lost person.” Hallelujah! That’s exactly where God wants you. Why? Because Jesus once said, “They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.” Most people admit they are sinners but very few that they are lost (that is on their way to hell). Jesus did not come into our world for good or virtuous people. In fact, they do not need Him because they think they can make it to heaven on their own merits. He said, “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which is/was lost.”

I have many other things I can say to you but I do not want to confuse you with too much detail. However, I would like to warn you against the people who make such a fuss about generational curses. One thing the devil persistently aims to do, is to prevent sinners from being saved and one of the ways he uses is to tempt you into blaming something or someone else for your dilemma or predicament. “Oh, it is my dad who abused me or my mom’s occultism, or my husband’s infidelity, or my OCD that prevents me from coming to Jesus for my salvation.” As long as we blame others the Holy Spirit, who by the way is very, very easily quenched when we do not act according to God’s will, cannot convict us of sin, righteousness and judgment. Generational curses work in the very same way. Instead of admitting that it is our own sins that separate us from God, we blame our parents, grand parents or great grandparents for the mess in our lives. Then so-called Christians advise us to visit a person or persons with a deliverance ministry so they may pray for us and deliver us from those curses. Stay away from them, my dear. Why? Because the Bible says: “The person who sins [is the one that] will die. The son will not bear the punishment for the sin of the father, nor will the father bear the punishment for the sin of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be on himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be on himself. (Ezek 18:20), and Paul says in Galatians 6:5, “Every man shall bear his own burden.”

And speaking of burdens, it now brings me to the most important part of my comment – how to be saved. You said is very complex. No, it is not so difficult after all. Jesus made it exceptionally easy for us to be saved. He has already done everything that is necessary for your salvation. All you have to do is to call on his Name and to come to Him for the forgiveness of your sins. Listen to what He says:

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden [heavy burdened with sin], and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Mat 11:28-30).

Jesus wants you to swop your heavy burden of sins with his light burden of eternal, exuberant joy. How do we do it? Well, here again, He gives the answer.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Rom 10:13)

It does not say “maybe” or “ there is a possibility” that they will be saved. It says, they SHALL be saved.

He does not only want YOU to call upon Him in prayer but to call on his Name. Names in those days told you something of that person’s character or function in life. Jesus means Saviour. So, when you call upon Him, it is to be saved and that’s exactly what you want, not so?

OK, what must you do to be saved? Seek out a quiet spot, like your room and call upon Jesus. Confess all your sins that you know of and ask Him to forgive you every single one of them and He SHALL. How do I know? Because He says:

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from ALL [not just some] unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (1 John 1:8-10)

After you have done this, thank Him for your salvation.

We shall be praying for you.
