Holy Spirit vs. Filthy Spirit of Fire, the calling down of Fire from heaven over a congregation, or praying Fire over someone is the norm in the church today. It has come to resemble the early heretic Gnostic churches. Religious ecstasy (or Kundalini) was to be found in the mystery religions of the first century A.D. Montanism
Montanism was an early Gnostic so called Christian movement of the late 2nd century, later referred to by the name of its founder, Montanus, but originally known by its adherents as the New Prophecy (or ‘The Phyrgian Heresy’) . The heretical movement spread rapidly to other regions in the Roman Empire at a time before Christianity was generally tolerated or legal. It persisted in some isolated places into the 6th century.
It was a prophetic movement that called for a reliance on the spontaneity of the Holy Spirit and spoke extra biblical revelation. Parallels have been made between Montanism and modern day movements such as the charismatic movement, and the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR). [1]
As the name “New Prophecy” implied, Montanism was a movement focused around prophecy, specifically those of the movement’s founders which were believed to contain the Holy Spirit’s revelation for the present age.[2] New Prophecy departed from Church tradition as described by Eusebius of Caesarea [3]: “And he [Montanus] became beside himself, and being suddenly in a sort of frenzy and ecstasy, he raved, and began to babble and utter strange things, prophesying in a manner contrary to the constant custom of the Church handed down by tradition from the beginning.”[4]
The Montanist prophets did not speak as messengers of God but were described as possessed by God while being unable to resist. Montanists believed that the new prophecies superseded and fulfilled the doctrines proclaimed by the Apostles.[5] Thus, they were seen as false prophets because they acted irrationally and were not in control of their senses.[6]
The Roman Catholic unholy spirit of FIRE
The church has gone so far with this unholy fire that it has literally ENGULFED the entire church. You need to be permanently on FIRE for God according to the powers that be (TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network), God TV, Rodney Howard-Browne, Kenneth Copeland, Angus Buchan, Rick Joyner, Ray McCauley, Cindy Jacobs, Deon Hockey, Kim Clement, Marc Bredenkamp, Leon du Preez, Harold Weitsz, et al.) as they spell out their incantation and throw FIRE, FIRE, and more FIRE in the congregations direction. Those in the congregation who have experienced this religious ecstasy want more, and those who have not experienced it, want to experience it because they believe this is the Holy Spirit as work.
The ‘Heart of God is now on FIRE‘ and everyone is pushed in this direction by the church to get to know ‘God’s heart‘. What they don’t tell you is that this ‘Heart of God’ is the Roman Catholic Sacred Heart of Jesus, and it is also the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
The church as it currently stands is being shoved towards pagan ROME at a rapid speed. But in order for Pentecostals and Charismatics to accept Roman Catholicism they would first have to accept the ‘spirit‘ by which it operates. Rome’s EVANGELIZATION of non-Catholics started decades ago, and their hard labour has paid off. Just as the ancient Egyptians viewed Kundalini as being ‘Ra‘ who is symbolized as the sun because the sun is the source of kundalini energy. So does the Roman Catholic Church who, worships the Sun god Mithra (incarnation of Ra).
Let’s have a look and see that the bible says about “fire called down from heaven” in the New Testament.
Revelation 13:13 “he [antichrist] doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,”

In the last days, the antichrist, the false Church, and it’s followers call down spiritual FIRE from heaven onto earth – this fire is satanic, it’s captures your soul with fake love and false manifestations that capture your mind. Was fire ever called down from heaven when Jesus walked the earth? Nope, how do we know? Well let’s go to God’s Word…look at this:
During Jesus’ earthly ministry, the disciples James and John wanted to call down fire from heaven in judgment of a Samaritan village that did not welcome the Lord Jesus Christ. What did Jesus Christ say to his disciples?
Luke 9:55- “But He turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.“
As we can clearly see from the bible, this spirit is from Satan, and is NOT the Holy Spirit. Jesus had not come “to condemn the world, but to save the world” (John 3:17)
This ‘fire that is called down from heaven’ is from Satan, another spirit, an unholy spirit – that condemns you.

In the verses Luke 9:54-56 Jesus rebukes his disciples for trying to call down fire from heaven, why? Jesus would never rebuke Elijah for what he did in calling down fire to destroy wickedness, if He did He would be rebuking the Father Himself as God rained fire and brimstone down on Sodom and Gomorrah and surrounding towns. One needs to compare OT to NT. Different dispensations.
What do the words “You know not what manner of spirit you are of.” mean? James and John in all their faithful zeal to Jesus Christ thought they were doing a good thing by wanting to destroy the wicked town that rejected Jesus by doing as Elijah did when he called down fire under OT Law. However the Apostles in training as I call them (Peter, James, John) had just recently seen Moses and Elias speaking with Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration. So James and John, thinking they could copy Elijah, where wrong in their thinking, and were in fact sinning when they wanted to call down fire, because they did not understand and they were under grace and Jesus didn’t operate like that. That is why Jesus rebuked them.
Anyone who wants to call down fire (be it physical fire or spiritual fire to destroy the soul) in this age of grace has a spirit of vengeance and it’s not from God.
This fire is a counterfeit. It’s a fire that leads to the UNITY of all religions, the joining of Protestant and Catholic, a co-reformation – into the false Christian church we have today. ]

It was difficult for me at first to also believe water baptism is null and voice for the church today. It was Tom who informed me and it took me days of studying scripture and having arguments with a friend at the time who then chucked me aside and unfriended me because according to her I was disobedient to the bibles commends to get baptised in real water (therefor I was sinning according to her and Tom was the worst of all sinners as he has not been dunked under any water at all). Funny though I had been baptised in a swimming pool, so not sure why she kicked me in the teeth…anyhowww. :dazed: Maybe believing that baptism in water is not for today, somehow unbaptized me? Interesting thought… :thinking:

Everyone on here speaks as if they know the secrets of god. You are all so busy trying to follow set rules by such and such church. You really think god would create human beings who would only be able to discover god through other men? spiritual leaders like Jesus were sent to guide us to discover the truth for ourselves. Not to dictate the truth through rules and dogma. Man has created all the churches you know. Not god. God created man yes but he created him in such a way that the truth could be found within. Christian mystics experiences kundalini too. It was the powerful church that wanted to use religion as a control mechanism and hide the truth that god is within. How else do we know if something is right or true? There is something built in to us that we can reference and that is our connection to god. How else would you know to listen to any religious teacher? If it feels holy, it probably is. Jesus raised his kundalini as did all great spiritual teachers. Why would we be created with this spiritual and transcendent potential within us if it wasn’t meant as a spiritual tool? I have no idea what that speaking in tongues Holy Spirit stuff is. My kundalini awoke on its own. I think you misunderstand how kundalini manifests in an individual. Hindus don’t run around speaking in to gues do they? Their entire religion is based on raising their kundalini to become closer and more connected to god. I have no idea what those charismatic churches are doing but it isn’t what the Hindus are doing.

I found a great website which debunks the false tongues of Pentecostalism with very thorough research. In one series of articles they examine the embarrassing period (which Pentecostal historians do their best to conceal) when early missionaries traveled to foreign lands expecting to supernaturally present the gospel in the unlearned, native language of the populace AND fell flat on their faces when no-one understood their gibberish. (Did you know that Voodoo practitioners have visited Pentecostal churches and recognized the ‘tongues’ as the same as theirs when possessed ny “fallen angels”?). Guess who the early Pentecostals they went to for their still current doctrine of a heavenly prayer language? The 19th century non-fundamentalist German heretics of Higher Criticism, who possibly got this doctrine from Edward Irving, the disfellowshipped Presbyterian minister who had his own short-lived Pentecostal movement in England in the 1830’s. Here is a link to an article on Irving. It was quite a big deal in its day, with celebrities like the Duke of York attending his services. Irving not only foreshadowed the movement which Parham and Seymour would begin in the early 20th century, but he also was a precursor (and “curse” is the operative word) to the NAR, as his movement introduced new apostles and prophets (though curiously, Irving himself was not one,although he refused to hold a service without the “gift of tongues”,which was the reason for his excommunication). It took the charismatic movement MANY years to endorse modern day prophets and apostles (eg the AOG condemning the ministries of Branham and Hagin, but now embracing the NAR). Irving did the lot in one go within three years, including stating that the tongues were a divine language once it was proved they were not of this earth.

I wonder whether even he foreknew that the 1900 revival of Montanism at Parham’s Bible School would lead to a global movement which now dominates professing Christianity. I recently read a fascinating book written in the ’90’s which condemns the Toronto Blessing and looks at similar manifestations going back to the time of John Wesley (who was an admirer of Montanus and invented the notion of the ‘Baptism in the Holy Spirit’,although he believed it led to a state of Sinless Perfection (which Finney had the audacity to believe he had come to experience!))
It is called THE TORONTO BLESSING AND SLAYING IN THE SPIRIT,THE TELLING WONDER by Nader Mikhaiel. I read things in it I had not heard or read before (eg. William Seymour renounced the belief that tongues are a sign of the Spirit baptism later in his life) and there is an excellent chapter proving Kenneth Hagin was a shaman/hypnotist who communed with a lying spirit which has deceived millions. When you are a born again you know if the Holy Spirit abides in you, and He speaks to you, and He directs you to the Word of God and into remembrance of who Jesus Christ is. None of those verses you mention are done away with.

The thing I find remarkable about a lot of this stuff which is sensationalist it seems to me, is the deafening silence from the scriptures. This alone should be enough to raise suspicions regarding its source and origins. It was written of the early disciples, in the scriptures which are God breathed, that they continued steadfastly in the Apostles’ doctrine yet I can find nothing substantive in the apostolic writings that would endorse many of the experiences asserted in this thread. What then is to be the arbiter of what is true, the scriptures or our subjective human experiences? The answer seems obvious to me at least.

There were some go points in this article. But there is one key points that is wrong. When the Apostles asked to call down fire on the wicked town that did not recieve Jesus. Jesus responded the way he did, because they were asking out of the spirit of vengence. We are told to seek justice, love mercy and walk humbly with our God. God is the vindicator. He never told us to ask for harm to come on our enemies. That is witchcraft. A.k.a a demonic spirit. That is why Jesus rebuked. It was not because there they under a different dispensation( OT vs NT) The dispensation of grace did not begin until AFTER Jesus died and rose again. The entire time Jesus walked the earth, before he was crucified he was still under the Mosaic Law. That is why the Pharisees hated him, because he began challenging this law by doing the things by working and doing things on the Sabbath that would normally be illegal to do under the Mosiac law to prepare them for the dispensation of grace that would be in place after he rose again.
Very good article and I agree with just about all of it. But I need some clarification. Based on your criteria for being saved I was very young when that happened. However I had a very unchristian home. There was a lot of opposition. I suppressed my beliefs very deeply, even below my conscious awareness. But it kept coming back up eventually. I had a very dark but not settled life for many years. When I was in college after A long period of drugs and sex and godlessness one night I was crying out to God for clarity. I was alone in the room. Nobody told me what to experience. I was told to open my Bible and I did. God reminded me who he was. I cried and cried and cried and said I was so sorry I forgot but I knew who he was he was Jesus Christ he was God. I was reading and crying and then I had the perception of darkness being pushed out of my room and then something coming in to my room from the clouds (my attention was drawn out of my room looking thru the window and up to the sky) and I felt overwhelming peace. From there I ran out telling everybody Jesus was God he died for us and we need to believe in him. My life has certainly not been perfect and I had a lot of deep addictions from very small child but things are getting better. ever since that time I have known clearly who Jesus Christ is and it fits your definition. But according to you this whole experience was satanic. It also appears to me that everybody on the planet is a false believer if they don’t have perfect doctrine like you. So just to be clear you have perfect doctrine. What I anticipate next is either for these comments to be removed because they’re too confrontational or you’re going to somehow put me down for daring to question you – but of course it won’t be you I’m questioning it’s the Bible since you have a perfect interpretation of the Bible. The Holy Spirit of the Bible is not Kundalini, and Kundalini is not the Holy Spirit of the Bible. A car is a car, and an engine is an engine (example given). Kundalini is not proven from any verses or the whole Word of God. So you are actually mixing it with error. If there is another spirit, then it is not the Holy Spirit (see 2 Corinthians 11:4 and read it contextually) – so prove to us of where you can find that “Kundalini and Holy Spirit are one and same thing” from your OWN Bible. History cannot save you, but can or should cause you to study in depth from cover to cover to what the Word of God says contextually and you cannot feed yourself on just history as it doesn’t weight enough. It does not produce spiritual growth. You can study history for one day, but will it produce you any spiritual growth? It will only give you insight or clarity, but it does not really yield you ongoing spiritual growth with our Lord Jesus Christ.
I can totally understand how the Devil can deceive a person by their use of Gnosis and the Kundalini experience because when the LORD poured His Spirit out onto me and took me up in the Spirit, I literally experienced Stigmata which in a way is similar to Kundalini…I even felt as though my faith was being tested for a while after my Spiritual Awakening through the Power of the Holy Spirit…It is very important for a person to learn true spiritual discernment because that’s exactly how Satan snares people by filling their egos with the belief that they can become or are their own god…It’s the very same lie that he told in the Garden to seduce Eve…It’s very true that once you are indwelt with the true Power of the Holy Spirit, you truly do lose complete love for anything worldly…I despise evil, and this whole world is so dark demonic, and evil, filled with the spirit of Antichrist…It has become totally Godless and Christ-Rejecting…A world like this should not even exist as far as I’m concerned, and I patiently wait and pray for the LORD’s soon return…
