At Boshoff from CRC Church shows us how Pharisees went about ‘Honoring’ God
The recent invitation to debate sent to Mr. At Boshoff by Dion Knoesen was as a result of the below notice sent out by CRC, to their members and undersigned by Mr. Boshoff.
This notice was dated 16 November 2010 with the Subject: “Honour God”
We wish to state the reason for the intended debate with Mr. Boshoff. We hope to either persuade Mr. Boshoff to give heed to proper rendering of the Scriptures for his own benefit and also to benefit those who are under his shepherding.
1Ti 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
On the CRC website it s mentioned that Mr. Boshoff studied at “A Bible College” for three years fulltime. Unfortunately no name is given to this Bible College.
In the last paragraph on this webpage the it says the following:
“He has been described as focussed, passionate and fervent in his hunger for the Word of God and explosive in his dynamic teaching of it. His positively dynamic and practical messages are equaled in their refreshing relevancy to their bold authenticity and doctrinal accuracy. “
When looking exegetically into his notice “Honour God” we have to question his “authenticity and doctrinal accuracy.”
For informative purposes the quoted Scriptures by Mr. Boshoff is discussed below in RED
As Paul wrote:
Php 1:9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;
Php 1:10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;

Honour God
“Money is the answer to all things.” Ecc 10:19
The two most important books in your life are the Bible and your cheque “book”. The Bible is the revelation of God’s love for us and our cheque book is the revelation of our love for God.
In Joshua 7 we read about the only place where Israel failed when they crossed into the Promised Land. The only place where Israel suffered defeat because they tampered with the gold and silver (the devoted things) that belonged to God.
Your tithe is Holy to God. Lev 27:30. There are two principles that dominate throughout the Old and New Testament: First fruits get given first and; seed time and harvest. It is God’s purpose that should drive us to give.
In Acts 5 we read about Ananias and Sapphira that financially stood in the way of God’s purpose and suffered great calamity. God does not curse you; your actions open your life to either failure or success.
Does Jesus endorse tithing? Of course He does. In both Matt 23:23 and Luke 11:42; Jesus says that tithing should be the most basic thing. When you tithe you shouldn’t even see that 10 percent. It’s God’s. Also we read in Heb 7 that tithing was before the law. It was a part of the Abrahamic covenant that still exists and is fulfilled in Jesus. He tithed to Malchizedek (high priest) 430 years before before Moses came with the law.
Your allegiance, your tithe, should be given to the church where you are planted. Mal 3 speaks about the coming of Jesus and actually the Holy Spirit. In this we see that we should bring the tithe to the “storehouse” which is your church. Give to God what is God’s. It is God who should be honoured first because He is the source of all your income. Matt 22:17-21
We work to build the kingdom of God, we shouldn’t work to meet our own needs. People can frustrate the work of God by withholding resources. Let’s evaluate ourselves and rectify places where maybe we’ve neglected to honour God with our finances. If you start today it is never too late.
This past week-end we saw 470 people giving their lives to Jesus. We are here to possess the Promised Land. Thank you to every one of you for working hard throughout the year and inviting your world to CRC.
We had a fantastic harvest event in Cape Town last week. We saw the entire auditorium filled to the max. Ps. Aidan and Sharon are doing a great work in that city. I believe many good things are still heading our way in Cape Town.
They have begun to lay the foundations for the Pretoria Building Project. We are so excited to see how things come together as we follow the instructions of God. As we are now in the time when we have to pay the contractors large sums of money every month, I urge you to give the money you pledged or whatever extra the Holy Spirit lays on your heart.
If you still want to contribute please e-mail finance[at]crc.org.za
The Kids’ Party is only a week away. Please take part in this as we are going to make the day special for over 15 000 underprivileged children. If you would like to volunteer or make a donation please contact 051-xxx xxxx.
Be Blessed,

A Critique on how to “Honor God” written by At Boshoff – Critique notes in red
“Money is the answer to all things.” Ecc 10:19 (Undersigned by At Boshoff)
[Note: It is utterly disappointing to notice that Eccl. 10:19 is cited and interpreted in the way At Boshoff has done so in his notice to the congregation at CRC.
When reading what King Solomon wrote in the book of Ecclesiastes the basic understanding and proper rendering of the Scripture quoted is in fact quite the opposite, as indicated here by Mr. Boshoff.
The passage in context from the first verse (In fact the first chapter of Ecclesiastes) has to do with what the foolish do and the evils resulting from their actions in this world, which also includes verse 10.
Solomon’s message is one of vanity to all that are under the sun, which includes “Money is the answer to all things” What Solomon actually means in writing this is that man’s trust in money which according to man answers all things, is vanity. Their trust and security should be in God and not in money.
It is vanity of fools who rely on their money for all things instead of God.
Psa 62:8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Psa 62:9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
Psa 62:10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
Psa 62:11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.
Mar 10:24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
1Ti 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
1Ti 6:18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
1Ti 6:19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life
Why do so many pastors not put their faith in God but rather exploit the people, after all they are always accusing those who do not have money as being without faith – yet when they need the money they rely on the people instead of their faith??
The Bible does not teach that money should not be used to preach the Gospel and to support brethren (not organisations) in the body of Christ – it is very obvious that mammon should be befriended for this purpose.
But to contort Scripture in this manner shows doctrinal ignorance – hopefully – that rather done so on purpose.]
The two most important books in your life are the Bible and your cheque “book”. The Bible is the revelation of God’s love for us and our cheque book is the revelation of our love for God. (Undersigned by At Boshoff)
[Note: Where is this revelation in the Bible, that our cheque book is the revelation of our love for God??
The revelation I find is that our love for the Lord Jesus, is to keep His commandments not the love of filthy lucre. Our love is manifested in our obedience to Him, our trust in Him alone not in mammon and riches.
There are only two important books and that is the Bible and having your name written in the Book of Life.]
In Joshua 7 we read about the only place where Israel failed when they crossed into the Promised Land. The only place where Israel suffered defeat because they tampered with the gold and silver (the devoted things) that belonged to God. (Undersigned by At Boshoff)
[Note: Ouch!!! First of all it was not Israel who “tampered with the gold and silver” but one man named Achan the son of Camri who had stolen some of the spoils of looted booty of Jericho. (This also had nothing to do with his own money, silver or gold or any of his personal belongings which is referred to here Mr. Boshoff in quoting Joshua 7 for gaining money from New Testament congregants.)
Yes, Israel as a corporate entity was punished as result of the theft by Achan, but it had absolutely nothing to do with the personal wealth individuals were given by God, which were then somehow to the interpretation of this part of Scripture withheld from God.
Firstly this was in disobedience to God, because God placed a ban on personal gain from the looted goods.
Secondly theft was the cause of the punishment – taking things not given to you by God.
Thirdly it was the covetousness of Achan that was addressed in the punishment. Covetousness is what God warns us against throughout the Scriptures.
A reminder: The Bible does not teach that money should not be used to preach the Gospel and to support brethren (not organisations) in the body of Christ – it is very obvious that mammon should be befriended for this purpose.
But to contort Scripture in this manner shows doctrinal ignorance – hopefully – that rather done so on purpose.
To be under the shepherding of someone who does not understand context and doctrine or does understand context and twists it out of context, is not promoted by Scripture:
1Ti 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.]
Your tithe is Holy to God. Lev 27:30. There are two principles that dominate throughout the Old and New Testament: First fruits get given first and; seed time and harvest. It is God’s purpose that should drive us to give. (Undersigned by At Boshoff)
[Note: Some more doctrines lacking regarding the tithe very applicable to the Old Testament. Using this one verse for the purpose of tithing is not sufficient and there were many tithing’s applicable not just one. To understand this tithe there were basically 4 types of tithing in the Old Testament ONLY
a) The tithe to the Levites. Deut.14: 27.
The Levites were the “government” of Israel and due to them not having a share in the land allocated to the rest of the tribes, those allocated land were to use of their produce to give to the Levites.
b) The tithe of the Levites to the Zadokites. Neh.10: 38.
Now this is where Malachi is used to place unnecessary burdens on believers today.
First of all, tithings were purely laws given in the Torah or Old Testament. So commanding and condemning people to tithe today by quoting Malachi 10, is basically going back to the Torah or the Law, putting congregants back under the law.
Secondly the Scriptures used below to state that Jesus endorses tithing are totally out of context with regard to tithing and God’s Word in fact it refers to this as works by the Pharisees to justify themselves, something God loathes. In Fact God says woe to them that tithe! – will explain when we discuss these passages.
Thirdly when Malachi 3:10 is read and understood in context it refers to the tithe in a) above, the tithe in Deut 14:27 which was received from the tribes and given to the Levites. The Levites in turn were to skim off a tithe from this tithe (Neh10:38) to give to the priests attending to temple duties. So it was the Levites who were robbing God not the people.
It is interesting when reading the “Works Of Josephus” the Sadducees were the rich of the day who were using the tithes to enrich themselves. Josephus admits to this as he himself was a Sadducee.
Historically it is proven that the Sadducees were extremely rich due to the financial contributions by ordinary people who were forced to pay tribute.
There is no new thing under the son. Today’s Sadducees and Pharisees apply the same rule. The flock enriches them as result of their own rendering and contortions of Scripture.
The clergy were robbing God of tithes not the people, hence the rebuke to them in Malachi 10.
Have any of the Malachi 10 promoters ever read the following to any of their congregations?
Mic 3:10 They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.
Mic 3:11 The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us.
Mic 3:12 Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.
The third type of tithe:
c) The tithe toward the annual Holy Days. Deut. 14: 22 – 26.
3 Times a year the Israelites were to attend Holy Feasts at Jerusalem and for this they needed to set aside a tithe of their harvests etc. If they were too far from Jerusalem they could sell the targeted tithed articles and turn it into money. This they would spend upon themselves and the Levites once they arrive in Jerusalem.
d) The tithe to the less fortunate. Deut.14: 28 – 29.
This is also a tithe to obviously assist the needy in the Old Testament.
Although a tithe in the New Testament is never mentioned in this regard there are many Scriptures which clearly say that the needy ought to be cared for.
When one searches for the word “Tithe” in the New Testament there are two references one in Matt. 23:23 and the other in Luke 11:42 which notably is quoted by Mr. Boshoff and will be discussed.]
In Acts 5 we read about Ananias and Sapphira that financially stood in the way of God’s purpose and suffered great calamity. God does not curse you; your actions open your life to either failure or success. (Undersigned by At Boshoff)
[Note: Who is man that he is able to stand in the way of God’s purpose? Is God dependant on man?
Psa 8:3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
Psa 8:4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
It is agreeable that one’s actions open you to success or failure, but to use Acts 5 as yardstick for failure and success is totally out of context.
I know of many people struggling financially who humbly adores God and has extreme credence in the Lord Jesus, but who realize that their own actions caused their calamity. Those being poor and suffering financially in this life without rejecting the Lord Jesus who are willing to endure to the end will be first in the Kingdom.
Although there are certain quotations by the MHCC I do not fully agree with the MHCC renders the following understanding with regard to Ananias and Sapphira which I could not have worded better:
The sin of Ananias and Sapphira was, that they were ambitious of being thought eminent disciples, when they were not true disciples. Hypocrites may deny themselves, may forego their worldly advantage in one instance, with a prospect of finding their account in something else. They were covetous of the wealth of the world, and distrustful of God and his providence. They thought they might serve both God and mammon. They thought to deceive the apostles. The Spirit of God in Peter discerned the principle of unbelief reigning in the heart of Ananias. But whatever Satan might suggest, he could not have filled the heart of Ananias with this wickedness had he not been consenting. The falsehood was an attempt to deceive the Spirit of truth, who so manifestly spoke and acted by the apostles. The crime of Ananias was not his retaining part of the price of the land; he might have kept it all, had he pleased; but his endeavouring to impose upon the apostles with an awful lie, from a desire to make a vain show, joined with covetousness. But if we think to put a cheat upon God, we shall put a fatal cheat upon our own souls. How sad to see those relations who should quicken one another to that which is good, hardening one another in that which is evil! And this punishment was in reality mercy to vast numbers. It would cause strict self-examination, prayer, and dread of hypocrisy, covetousness, and vain-glory, and it should still do so. It would prevent the increase of false professors. Let us learn hence how hateful falsehood is to the God of truth, and not only shun a direct lie, but all advantages from the use of doubtful expressions, and double meaning in our speech.]
(Undersigned by At Boshoff)
[Note: Is Mr. Boshoff rightfully dividing the Word here?
To understand Matthew 23:23 effectively one needs to read from verse 1!
These were the Words of the Lord Jesus Himself. The Lord Jesus was warning against the Pharisees and rebuked them for putting credence or weight to their tithes. The Lord Jesus says in Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
The Lord Jesus most certainly does not say that tithing is the most basic thing in this Scripture. In fact He says woe to those that tithe and ignore the important things that God wants. The Lord Jesus in fact says that it is NOT the most basic thing. He says the “weightier” matters are more basic than the tithe.
Luke 11:42 Again out of context and basically the same rebuke goes out to the Pharisees who promoted and relied on tithing as the basic thing at the time of the Temple in Jerusalem.
I do not find: “Jesus says that tithing should be the most basic thing” What I do find is another rebuke to the Pharisees and Scribes who felt very secure in basic tithing: Luk 11:42 But woe unto you, Pharisees! For ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
What I have found in CRC when I used to go there was that they were promoting security in tithing, but the more important and weightier matters such as keeping the Lords commandments in our love for Him, I personally never heard in any sermon by Mr. Boshoff.
Is this not precisely why the Lord Jesus in His Word rebukes the Pharisees?
In Matthew 23:23 and Luke 11:42 the focus is more on the “weightier” matters than the tithe.
A very repetitive part of Scripture used by Mr. Boshoff is Hebrews 7
Gen: 14:18: And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the highest God.
Gen: 14:19: And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
Gen: 14:20: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.
This is to “prove” that tithing was established before the time of Moses, the Torah or law and that tithes have to be given to the priest. To find out what the Melchizedek tithe meant one has to not only read this passage, but also read on to verses 22 & 23.
From verse 18 – 20 it is clear that this was not Abraham’s belongings which were tithed, but rather the booty or loot he had gathered from conquering the enemy.
Gen:14:22: And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,
Gen: 14:23: That I will not take from a thread even to a shoe latchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:
Although he gave away 10% of the booty, he stated that he did not even want any of it, because it was not his.
It is also interesting to note that this was a ONCE OFF event, which never took place again.
Ninety percent and more of Scripture quoted for the purposes of pleading for tithes are taken out of context today. God says let few be teachers, because those teachers teaching the flock will be held accountable for what they teach.
James:3:1: My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.]
Matt 22:17-21 (Undersigned by At Boshoff)
[Note: Reading Mal 10 from verse 1 rather suggests that the audience addressed by God were the priests as already discussed. The “storehouse” is definitely not the New Testament church. The New Testament church is the bride of Christ and not a building built with brick and mortar.]
We work to build the kingdom of God, we shouldn’t work to meet our own needs. People can frustrate the work of God by withholding resources. Let’s evaluate ourselves and rectify places where maybe we’ve neglected to honour God with our finances. If you start today it is never too late.
[Note: The Lord Jesus calls for heed to doctrine rather than finances and I do hope that Mr. Boshoff would rather be obedient to the Lord in the weightier matters.]
This past week-end we saw 470 people giving their lives to Jesus. We are here to possess the Promised Land. Thank you to every one of you for working hard throughout the year and inviting your world to CRC.
[Note: Figures do not impress God. One such an example is: Exo 23:2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:
Mat 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
The quote Mr. Boshoff uses in Matthew 23 was discussed already and to conclude, using this verse as a basis for endorsing tithing is basically in support of what the Pharisees promoted – That Mr. Boshoff is teaching here and to the congregation is absolutely the same what the Pharisees were doing.
What is important however and of grave concern, are the proselytes made by CRC. This is also found in Matthew 23 the chapter in which the verse occurs that Mr. Boshoff uses to preach the diametric opposite to what the Lord Jesus says in this chapter: Mat 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
Mat 23:16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
Mat 23:17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?]
We had a fantastic harvest event in Cape Town last week. We saw the entire auditorium filled to the max. Ps. Aidan and Sharon are doing a great work in that city. I believe many good things are still heading our way in Cape Town.
[Note: I suppose it is not worth mentioning all those pastors and lay persons who have left CRC and would like to see Mr. Boshoff repent of his ways.]

The Kids’ Party is only a week away. Please take part in this as we are going
to make the day special for over 15 000 underprivileged children. If you would like to volunteer or make a donation please contact 051-525 2883.
[Note: It is agreeable that feeding under privileged Children is a very good work, yet the concern remains what these poor children are being fed spiritually when such doctrine as discussed here is being preached.
Hitler once said that if the hearts of the children are won, the next generation will be won.
It is also fact the “Church” of Rome has built a multitude of schools and hospitals and proclaims ex-Cathedra that winning the minds of children before age 7 will ensure that they will be won permanently for the Mother “Church”. I see the same happening at CRC so feeding children is an outward appearance coaxing them into a greater deception of being taught wrong doctrine
Remember what James wrote; if the correct faith is dead the works mean nothing.
It is the correct doctrine that will ensure the correct faith – this is why the works may be more detrimental to the children in the longer term.]
Thanks Deborah
so this website was created specifically to judge pastor At lol you guys need deliverance, he is surely doing something right that it offends the devil on his sit. We will forever invite people to come join us at CRC, hundreds are getting saved every week, as for building a church that cost millions, don’t worry about that its all the members contributions and yes if needs be, the building can be renovated anytime to accommodate more. if it makes you sleep at night then continue dear with these comments, quote the scriptures all you want, write a novel if you can but we are winning the lost at all cost!
God’slove
You said “so this website was created specifically to judge pastor At”
No.
2 Timothy 4:2 “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”
Jude 1:3 “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”
You see if you read your bible, it commands all of us to “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” , but you don’t like scripture…
You said “quote the scriptures all you want”
It’s clear what God’s Word has to say means nothing to you as long as you think you are doing good. Hundreds are not being saved every week, hundreds are being caught up in false teaching. Congratulations on helping to lead thousands of people to hell. Their blood will be on your hands.
Oops, look another Bible verse for you to ignore:
Ezekiel 3:18 “When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.”
I was caught up in the false preaching of At Boshoff’s CRC as well. My eyes have opened and now I am a devout man of God truly planted in a church that mentions mediums of depositing cash for the church but rather focuses on getting your hands dirty, going out and helping the needy in the Name of Jesus and making desciples…not forcing them into anything. I have never been happier in my life but unfortunately I had to fall in this hole before crawling out to the light again. And I really do pray so that these people will see the truth just as I did. PS Good thread
Particularly lovely stuff from Utter Bossies, pardon, At Boshoff, today.
And I quote (morning service):

Bread of Life Ministries teach very sound doctrine. Their pastor, David Nathan, offers very little opinion and a whole lot of fact!
Dear Anonymous.
This church you mention “Bread of Life Ministries” appears to be a Hebrew-roots church.
It says in the about section “Over the millennia, the gentile church has separated herself from her Hebraic roots and has lost much of the richness and insight of the Jewish apostles whose ministry and teaching formed the foundation of the New Testament Church.” [Emphasis added] https://www.bolm.co.za/about-us
This is terribly false. Hebrew roots churches are taking Gentile Christians back to the law and Jewish customs. Gentiles are not Jewish, Jews are not Gentiles. There were Jewish apostles to preach to the Jews and the Apostle Paul to preach to the gentiles. Same gospel different customs. If you are a Gentile you stay a gentile, if you are a Jew you can keep certain customs but we all come out the law.
They say “It is our hearts desire, that through sharing our teaching ministry with the Church that these truths may once again bring, joy, liberty, passion and understanding back to the Bride of Jesus and that we may all become mature in the knowledge of Him, in unity and in love.” [Emphasis added] https://www.bolm.co.za/about-us
Not true. There is nothing wrong with the Gentile Christian church – the bride of Christ, we have never been lacking in richness, joy, understanding etc as Jesus Christ who abides in us (1 John 4:13, Philippians 4:7) is ALL the richness we ever need and the Holy Spirit has always led ALL born again Christians into full understanding and rememberance of who Jesus Christ is. (John 14:26, 1 Corinthians 2:14)
I had no idea that lighting a Menorah, wearing a prayer cloth, calling Jesus ‘Yeshua’ and God ‘Yahweh’, celebrating Jewish festivals, dancing Jewish dances, just doing things the Jewish way etc., now makes you a ‘real’ or ‘better’ Christian because you now you supposedly act like the Christians acted in Bible times and therefore have MORE understanding and joy than all the Christians have had for the last 2 thousand years. What a lie.
I see they also support Jacob Prasch who attacked me in the most horrific manner for questioning his doctrine.
Indeed, our joy is the Lord Jesus who fulfilled every iota and tittle of the Law in our behalf. Anyone who tries to keep the Law in any which way possible is denying outright that Jesus is the fulfillment of the Law and place themselves again under the curse of the Law. (Galatians 3:10, 13).
Tom and Deborah
I stumbled upon your site recently. Thank you so much for the excellent articles! I was involved in AFM churches and few other “conservative” Pentecostal churches for almost 35 years. Because my church rejected the laughing revival, were against slain in the spirit, I though we were ok. BUT – Even these conservative charismatic churches actually still agree with a lot of word faith and prosperity doctrines as mentioned above.
These teachings almost destroyed my life! I will share my horrific story later.
Thanks to articles on this site I can slowly return to the truth again.
I would very much like to email people who like me woke up slowly by God’s grace to the horrendous errors in these churches.
From 35+ years in charismatic churches I know there are people desperately looking for truth – but the damage is so big and the lies so strong that you need to start from the very basics again. Thus my need to at least start with emailing some people that can and are prepared to help a few ex – charismatics!
You guys will NEVER know of how much help these articles are, especially if you woke up to the most shocking revelation that you thought you were on the narrow road for almost 40 years and were actually in a sect. (Even conservative churches drilled Mal 3:10
– bring your whole tithe, etc, etc..)
I have been to roughly 4 or 5 of their services. I am grateful that I attended for I realized how I put my relationship with God to the backseat these past couple of months.
Nevertheless, when the initial honeymoon phase passed I started seeing gaps in the preaching. In the middle of the sermon, the pastor would talk about his business and God would be forgotten to indulge in some self-appraisal with really no scriptural basis except here and there, taken out of context, to support subjective ideas.
I listened to some of At’s sermons on YouTube and when I heard this, I choked: “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be (financially) rich.” He added in the word “financially” and even the big screen indicated this addition of At’s ‘scripture’.
This has been one of the most grueling times of my spiritual life as I am being challenged in everything I believe. The worst is, is that I have family who are getting more and more involved with the Church and I don’t know how to show them the truth.
If you look at the IFCC to which CRC belongs, you see the same tendency in their sister churches and very questionable doctrine.
Sometimes I wonder whether I am wrong, but it just doesn’t feel right. I am reminded that he prowls as a roaring lion and he appears as an angel of light. Even the name of Jesus does not reflect the true savior and Son of the Father. Then I ask myself, “what holly spirit do they call on?” .
I hope the Lord will forgive me in my judgment whether I am right or wrong.
How do I help those I love who are being deceived?
Orion
You are judging righteously, as God commands you too. You will not be punished for this.
At’s verse that he tramples on is this:
2 Corinthians 8:9
9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
Matthew 20:28 “Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”
Philippians 2:6-8 “6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”
AT Boshoff twists the verse and makes it about financial riches: money/mammon.
Jesus Christ speaks about being God and taking on human form, that he might die on the cross for our sins, that we may become RICH in Salvation.
At Boshoff serves the god of money which is Satan. The bible is explicit when it comes to serving 2 masters:
Matthew 6:24 “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
The only way to help your loved ones is to take the verses that AT Boshoff uses to for money, riches, financial gain and show your family what the verse really means. In doing so you will be showing them the Truth, then they have to make a decision.
Hi Tom & Deborah
Praise God I left CRC church. Now I am REALLY experience revival.
What I recently noticed though, is that when a prayer was prayed in church, the pastor do not address the Father, but pray unto Jesus. Don’t the scripture say that we must pray to the Father through Jesus?
I now it is a stupid question, but please give me your insight
Hi Concerned,
Jesus is the Door to the Father and we must enter into the most Holy of Holies through Him and Him alone.
Fact is that when you pray to or through Jesus you are already praying to the Father because Jesus said, “I and my Father are ONE.” (John 10:30). I will leave it to you to find out what he meant when He said: “I and my Father are One.”
Hi Concerned
To add to Tom’s comment . When Stephen died he said:
Acts 7:59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
When it comes to false teachers, they will pray to God, they will use the name of Jesus too and pray through him, but the gospel they preach is another gospel, thereby pointing to another Christ, another God.
Hi Deborah
Halleluja, praise the LORD! What more can I say that by God’s grace I came across this blog. Through hopping channels on very limited available tv channel bundle to catch up on weather, lo and behold there was At Boshoff on screen. I’ve never heard any of his previous sermons and only knew that he podcasts to CRC churches throughout the country. My first and immediate impression was that this person is highly strung or something strange was taking place, therefore I forgot about the weather momentarily and looked to see what on earth he seemed so shaken up about. I firstly noticed a nugget of a ring on his finger, a flashy wrist watch and everytime he commanded or ordered something from the stage – the crowd responded to jump up towards him and almost worship the very words that came from his mouth! I was not drawn by the message as such, but more to the display of a tv entertainer and how the crowds (many youngsters) jump in agreement and in delight of his waving arms and commands. This very picture prompted me to pick my computer to see who this is, because everything including the inbetween adverts revolved around donations of money, sowing seeds, financial pledges(???), that did not make sense from any Scriptural point of view. What was alarming was the power of control he has in that the congregants and many red shirts jump up and raised their hands which clearly appeared to worship “the created” instead of WORSHIPPING CREATOR. Ironically this is indeed a blessed occassion for me, as I would never have picked on yours and Tom’s blogs to search for who this man of powerful control over the crowd is, leading people to react in the manner in which I saw on TV today set alarm bells ringing. I’ve gone through your and Chris’ and the many others who have commented about CRC’s matters and all I can say is the task on hand is now ever greater to go after the lost sheep, deceived into teachings that clearly contradict the Word of God (thank you Chris for highlighting these). Debby thank you that you been obedient to God’s Word and have set this platform where the Truth is being revealed in more areas than the CRC to shed light. I pray that the Lord will bless you in your endevours and I look forward to communicating on the Scriptures and sharing these truths with as many believers in search of God’s Truth in affiliation to such likeminded Believers in Jesus Christ and to reveal God’s Truth according to the Bible. Blessings to all William.
Dear William
Thanks for your comment. At Boshoff does indeed have powerful mind control over this flock. I can’t see what’s on his ring, I’ve tried but can’t get a clear image; however I do believe he is a Freemason. 90% of the time he uses the Masonic M when holding the microphone and CRC capture these shots to use as his photos on the internet and for ‘At’s Quotes of Wisdom‘ as I call them.
This Masonic M is a very unnatural hand position and has to be a forced and a practiced hand position.
Please see here for picture I created on Masonic M hand sign, AT Boshoff and the people who use this hand sign.
O my goodness….NOW I AM REALLY CONCERNED
Dear Concerned
I knew about this info for a while, but I wanted to make 100% sure I was correct in my deductions before letting everyone know.
Please pray for your family, I will pray for your family too this evening.
Hi there,
It is really concerning to see Christians like yourselves “bad mouth” other ministries and people like this. I am not judging any of you but is this really CHRIST-like actions? (Rhetorical question please do not answer) I truly think one can spend one’s time in a way more constructive way to build the Kingdom of God.
Before any of you ask – yes I am in CRC and have been a proud member for 10 years and will remain a member of the church for the rest of my life. I can personally testify where the local church (CRC) helped me and many others through some rough times.
To mentions a few:
—————————–
1) My church family (which includes PS JJ btw) were the only people that stood with me and my family when my dad passed away.
2) One of my friends in the church was struggling to get a job for months and he was the only breadwinner in his household I can testify that CRC Pretoria took care of him and his family week in and week out during this period. Members of the church also helped him to find and keep a job (which he has to this very day).
3) Another friend had issues with drug abuse the church walked a journey with her and is clean today thanks to the guidance and counselling of the church.
4) Personally I was struggling financially as well and through guidance by pastors from the local church they guided me to make the right decisions month in and month out to get my financial struggles in order – today I can bless others struggling financially and by walking a journey with the individual.
5) Within the different ministries in CRC I can see how people really care about people and take care of each other – as Iron sharpens Iron so shall one man sharpen another. (And I do not mean this in a religious way but in a REAL WAY).
6) Another friend of mine was a high school dropout, CRC assisted him in getting a matric certificate and today he is the owner of a business that employs 10 people thus 10 people can feed their families daily because he stayed planted and under spiritual authority. By guidance from God and church members (as we know God uses people) he achieved that and will keep achieving great things to further the Kingdom of God in a real way.
This is just to mention a few items – there are many other examples where we can truly see the fruit of the local church.
Let us just be honest here:
————————————–
1) People are people (and no one is free of sin)
2) CRC is a local church – and a local church have people in it. Because of my statement at (1) any church I don’t care where in the world – will have issues because there are people involved.
3) The local church is a hospital for people with problems (which we all have). The Church is there to take care of it’s flock and as I testified CRC is doing just that.
In conclusion I would like to remind all of you – that we are on this earth to build the Kingdom of God and to testify of God’s greatness in our lives. Let us not create division in God’s church. I would also like to encourage you to reach out to people in your local communities and invite them to your local church (which ever church you may be attending) . Let us work together and not against each other.
May God bless you and keep you.
Love you all.

I can understand why you said it is a rhetorical question. You don’t want to here the truth. Want to hear the truth how Jesus built his Kingdom? Listen carefully.
“Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.” (Mark 8:33) And in case you do not know, Jesus said this to one of his chief apostles. Fancy that.
“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” (John 8:44).
Christlike? You bet! And please don’t tell us that you love us. If you had you would have loved Jesus which you don’t because He said, “If ye love Me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). One of his most important commandments is, “Take heed that no man deceive you.” (Matthew 24:4). Guess what? You are heavily deceived.
Oh and by the way, Jesus taught us to pray,
“Our Father who art in heaven,
Let those who do not keep your commandments build your Kingdom on earth.”
Love you.
Dear ‘Christian’
Whoooohooooooo look at all the good works done by CRC! :yahoo: Amen! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
The FALSE gospel that CRC preaches however is leading everyone to hell.
Matthew 4:1-11 1Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 2And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. 3And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
You said “that we are on this earth to build the Kingdom of God and to testify of God’s greatness in our lives”
Matthew 4:8-10 8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
You said “Let us work together and not against each other.”… “Let us not create division in God’s church.”
Yes, let’s unite all faiths under one banner called Roman Catholicism. Do good works, serve humanity and preach whatever gospel takes your fancy.
And Jesus says:
“Luke 12:51 51 Do you think I have come to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division!”
However, there is no division in the Bride of Christ, we all hear one voice, speak with one voice and follow one Shepherd. The false church speaks with many voices and follow after wolves.
John 10:26-27
26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
John 10:14
14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
We are to avoid wolves who have crept into the church with false teaching:
Romans 16:17
17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
May your false god bless you and keep you.
Love you.
In the news. Starting today. :ohno:

I am so relieved to have found this blog. My daughters joined CRC PTA after the one started dating a guy who attends CRC. After a few months, they changed so much that I now have to walk on eggs around them. Whenever I ask them where in the Bible does God say what At preaches, they get so angry and aggressive, that it becomes very unpleasant.
We went to Ballito for the December holidays, and I wanted to go to church on Christmas morning, and low and behold, they convinced us to go to CRC. Never in my life have I been more gobsmacked and outraged after a “sermon”. The music was loud and had no melody, no praise and worship, just loud, and upsetting. Now just put yourself in my, and the other visitors ahoes. It is Christmas day, most of us are not members of CRC, and we are there to give thanks to God for sending His Son for our salvation.
Then the “pastor” comes out, and low and behold, the entire sermon is about tithing. Give, give, give…..not ONE SINGLE WORD about the birth of Christ or about being grateful. I could actually not believe my ears, needless to say, my husband and I gave nothing.
The daughters were so impressed with the sermon, and could not stop telling us that we really need to join them at CRC Pta. It is as if they are brainwashed.
They totally believe in the prosperity gospel, and when I confronted them with Paul praying 3 times for the thorn to be removed, and it wasn’t, and asked if they think there was something wrong with Paul’s faith, they just got angry and walked away.
I realise that I will not be able to convince them of the false prophet they are blindly following, but with all my heart I believe that the Holy Spirit will at some point convince them of this, and all I can do is keep on praying.
Thank you for what you are doing to get the truth out there. May God richly bless you in this very important message you are proclaiming.

Dear Chloe
Thank you for your comment, I really appreciate it.
I am sorry to hear your daughters are caught up in this ‘cult’. Pray for them, daily, that their eyes will be opened to the truth. And never stop showing them scripture from the bible. If they get too angry…relax a bit…let them calm down…wait for another opportunity to speak to them again. But pray Chloe, don’t stop, you are fighting against principalities of evil here.
Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
As Christians we are living in very tough times where there is a false teacher (guided by demonic forces) around every corner we turn trying to capture our minds, which in turns destroys the soul. At Boschof captures his congregations bank balance, and Satan is capturing their souls.
Prosperity churches are actually nothing but religious pyramid schemes.
I will pray for you tonight as well Chloe, that your daughters listen to the Holy Spirit’s warning and start to think for themselves and start to read the bible themselves and not let CRC do the thinking and reading for them.
Dear Deborah
Thank you for your prayers. We need all the prayers we can get. At some point, in God’s time, At Boshoff will be exposed, and then many people’s eyes will be opened to the one truth. I feel so much less frantic now that I’ve discovered your blog, because at least now I know that I am not alone, and that my feeling that this church is a sect is not just something I felt and experienced alone. It is extremely upsetting to realise just how many people are following all these false prophets. I will never astop praying for the real truth to set them free. Thank you again. God bless.
Very few people know what goes on behind the scenes in Boshoff’s life. Were it exposed, and believed ofcourse, that church would shut down tomorrow. There is no difference between him and any of the other “pastors” of mega-churches who have fallen over the years. He is very good at incapacitating his significant others so that nothing comes out. Those congregations have no idea of the extent of the rot in every area. But many are also bought: show any signs of questioning something, and you’re out of a job. Young people will get sucked in – I have no time for the adults who KNOW something’s wrong, but do nothing about it. But those young people’s lives will crash later, sadly, as there is no real foundation there.
Debora, Tom, Robbie
I am a member of CRC . There are many things I agree with on the posts and many other things I am concerned about with regards to CRC. I think this is a platform that can be of great help to people like me to get independent and wise council. I however feel sad that people do use it as a place to “offload” negativity.
We can all take scriptures and use it as an answer to serve or affirm our beliefs whether the be right or wrong. ( I Loved the way the that the letter from Pastor At was pulled apart and scripture used -with the history of said verse- to form the real truth and/or back ground of said.)
I am so afraid to ask the questions on here at the moment because I do not want more affirmation of my emotional state but Godly wisdom.
I would however like to leave you with this question/thought…..(why I am weary of speaking about leaders in church)
Saul was David’s enemy yet he slayed the man who took his life
1 Samuel 18:27-29
And Saul was yet the more afraid of David; and Saul became David’s enemy continually.
2 SAM 1
5 Then David said to the young man who brought him the report, “How do you know that Saul and his son Jonathan are dead?”
6 “I happened to be on Mount Gilboa,” the young man said, “and there was Saul, leaning on his spear, with the chariots and their drivers in hot pursuit. 7 When he turned around and saw me, he called out to me, and I said, ‘What can I do?’
8 “He asked me, ‘Who are you?’
“‘An Amalekite,’ I answered.
9 “Then he said to me, ‘Stand here by me and kill me! I’m in the throes of death, but I’m still alive.’
10 “So I stood beside him and killed him, because I knew that after he had fallen he could not survive. And I took the crown that was on his head and the band on his arm and have brought them here to my lord.”
11 Then David and all the men with him took hold of their clothes and tore them. 12 They mourned and wept and fasted till evening for Saul and his son Jonathan, and for the army of the Lord and for the nation of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword.
13 David said to the young man who brought him the report, “Where are you from?”
“I am the son of a foreigner, an Amalekite,” he answered.
14 David asked him, “Why weren’t you afraid to lift your hand to destroy the Lord’s anointed?”
15 Then David called one of his men and said, “Go, strike him down!” So he struck him down, and he died. 16 For David had said to him, “Your blood be on your own head. Your own mouth testified against you when you said, ‘I killed the Lord’s anointed.’”
Looking for the truth
Oh, I get it. You are warning us not to touch God’s so-called anointed lest we too are killed like the Amalekite. Tell me, is contending for the faith, as God commanded us to do, akin to touching his so-called anointed? I call this the false teachers’ “default fear factor” to keep their followers in bondage to their lies. Wouldn’t you say their lies are worse than murder and killing God’s anointed (truly born-again saints of God), and that your disobedience to God in NOT wanting to contend for the faith, is making you an accomplice to their lies?
Your reference to David and the Amalekite’s death is totally out of context and I can prove it to you. However, I won’t do so now unless you ask me, because I can see you will never listen to any of our admonishments. The fact that you are still in the CRC Church proves that you are forever learning and never coming to the knowledge of the truth (2 Timothy 3:7)
I can assure you that contending for the faith that was once delivered to us by the apostles is not negativity. It is obedience to God which you don’t seem to find necessary. You would rather bow before a so-called self appointed anointed of God than bowing in obedience to God Himself. My advice to you would be “Get out as soon as you can. Flee from the CRC and At Boshoff. Should you remain there you probably do not know the voice of the Good Shepherd.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. (John 10:1-5).
Dear Looking for the truth
Ditto to what Tom said.
