Reinhard Bonnke – 3yr old Boy Raised from the Dead

Reinhard Bonnke - SapeleCrusadeReinhard Bonnke Twitter comment:   Our Sapele Crusade has just ended. On the last night a 3 year old boy was raised from the dead. We serve a mighty God. 12:21 AM, Dec 16th 2009. http://twitter.com/ReinhardBonnke/status/6709750192

Ah don’t you just love it when these things happen in Africa.  I especially love it because it’s completely unverifiable.  This is not the first time Reinhard Bonnke had a ‘raised from the dead’ in Africa.   But let’s first look at this story:    [DTW comments in green below]

Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke and Daniel Kolenda: 3-Year-Old Boy Raised From the Dead!

“I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: ” ~ Jesus Christ (Jn 11:25)

People have been asking for more details about the 3-year-old boy that was raised from the dead last week in Sapele, Nigeria. It is a truly extraordinary story and worth some elaboration.

Last Saturday night (December 12) a woman came to the meeting with a 3-year-old son that was very ill. During the service she said that he actually passed away. I was still on the platform ministering when she brought him behind the platform. She was holding his lifeless body and weeping when the ushers found her. They confirmed that he was indeed dead and told her that all the crying in the world wouldn’t bring him back to life.  [That’s a nice thing to say to a mother who has just lost her child]  They said, “Take him to the medical tent.”  “No,” she told them, “I want to bring him to the man of God.” Security allowed her to wait there until the service was over.  [Got to wait till the service is over, can’t disrupt the schedule for a 3 year old boy who died during your service.]

As I was walking down off the platform, surrounded by ushers, there were people all around wanting prayer as usual. But this woman, holding a child caught my eye.[Surely someone would have by now told you about the dead 3 year old? ]  I stepped to the side and said, “What’s wrong with him?”  [How odd that you spotted this child, but had to ask ‘what’s wrong with him?’  Surely you could see the child was dead? or did he just look limp, like maybe he was not dead.]  They told me in broken pigeon English, “The child is not well.” [Why would they tell you the child is not well, when the ushers that were there previously confirmed the child was dead, surely one of the ushers would have stayed by this woman?]   They dropped his limp body in my arms, and I prayed for about thirty seconds before handing him back to the mother. [And after holding the child in your arms you still did not notice the child was supposed to be dead?]

Before service started on the following night (Sunday), John Darku, our African crusade director told me that there was a woman there with an incredible testimony. Rev. Peter Vandenburg and I went down to speak with her. I was amazed to find that it was the woman from the night before. She had brought her son, and he was perfectly well. They told us that the child had come back to life almost immediately after prayer.  OK here we go, if he came to life almost immediately after prayer why did no one notice?  Why did she not immediately turn around and tell someone?  Why was there such a lack of compassion from the pastor that he just left immediately after giving the ‘limp’ or dead baby back to his mother?]

My message that night was from Romans 8:2, but before I preached it I brought this woman and her son onto the platform along with a witness to give the testimony. The crowd of more than 200,000 people exploded with rejoicing when they heard about the miracle. It was Romans 8:2 in action – “The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, hath made me free from the law of sin and of death.”

[Yes and I am sure you raked in tons of cash after that one.  This entire story is nothing but a bunch of lies.  I am sure there was a woman with a very ill child, but he did not die and certainly was not raised from the dead.

In Africa, you can pay anyone to do anything for you, even for the smallest amount of money as people in Africa are very poor. It is a known fact that people are paid at these crusades, to act ill to be miraculously healed, or fake dying to be miraculously raised from the dead]

What do you mean? Who are you addressing?

  3. blank Michael Anthony says:

It is the first verse of Psalm 68, an amazing Psalm of God’s defense of his people. It has nothing, zero, zilch to do with raising the dead, but then again what did we expect?

    Have a look at this:

Let me quote from that article.

    1. The healing by Jesus, Peter and Paul was immediate and obvious. The “healing” shown on the video (you will have to go to that link) took at least one half hour of jumping up and down, shouting, babbling in pseudo-tongues, and a whole lot of carrying on. Peter didn’t pray. He didn’t tell the man he had to have faith. He didn’t tell the crowd going into the temple to point to the man. And he didn’t hold his hand on the man. Yet the man was completely healed. Jesus did it so those around Him would know he had the power to forgive sin.

    2. AFTER the healings, the people praised God. The people came to Peter and John for an explanation and the two of them were able to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A video of the healings didn’t go viral, the temple didn’t increase its membership, and Paul didn’t get promoted to bishop with a bunch of other churches under him.

    3. While a crowd may have been around, the miracle itself was not the focus of the crowd. The results were the focus and the results provided an opportunity for the Apostles to tell the crowd about Jesus Christ, right then and right there.

I am extremely saddened by this. I have studied in Bible college and obtained my credentials. I am sad at the utter lack of faith in this website. Didn’t Jesus say we will do what He did and even greater things? So how can you put yourselves in the Judgement Seat, and “judge” this as wrong when Christ even said we would do this? I wonder if Jesus is not sitting at the right hand of the Father and saying “Oh ye of little faith…”

  5. blank Michael Anthony says:

    Joe,

Maybe you should ask the bible college for a refund.

  6. Joe

    >> Didn’t Jesus say we will do what He did and even greater things?

Jesus said you would do greater things with regards to spreading the message NOT greater miracles than Jesus. I love it when people use this verse to lift themselves up higher than Jesus Christ.

i dont like this website and don’t think i’m coming back, you writing makes me sad. this raising from the dead is pure bible. something to be celebrated – the goodness of God, and they way he is so close, powerful and loving.

i’m not going to argue, or offer scriptures, its all in the bible. all plain. praying you find that first firey faith in the wild almighty god who moves, saves and lives!

    love

Can you prove Reinhard Bonnke raised this boy from the dead? Do you have inside info that he is not lying like the last time he raised someone from the dead too and it was proved without a doubt to be false because the ‘zombie’ came forward and confessed.

Praying you seek the truth before you come and judge me.

  9. blank Ola says:

Jesus left sick Lazarus to die even when they pleaded with Him to come heal Lazarus. He didn’t break schedule. He raised him at his own convenience. e still does that today. Why does it seem so bad to you that the child was raised after the service? Try to understand God by studying results. On the other hand, I know better. Like me before I was saved, skeptics are simply blinded. God will open your eyes in Jesus’ name.

  10. Ola

Then please show us the results of this boy being raised from the dead???????? Reinhard Bonnke IS A LIAR. Stop believing everything you are told is true. No one is questioning that Jesus raised people from the dead.

But Reinhard Bonnke is lying and you are blinded into thinking he is telling you the truth. You have been taken for a fool Ola. Reinard Bonnke laughs at you all the way to the bank. Stop being so gullable.

  11. Thomas, I deleted your comment by accident. I dunno what’s going on with me *bangs head on desk* lol. If you can remember what you said, please re-comment.

  12. blank louise says:

Debs, I must agree with you on the Reinhard Bonnke story. I have never followed his teachings and battle with him. When a person gives me the “Grills” I run.
I have recently been reading on some negative matters regarding Angus Buchan. Not from this site. For some time now I simply cannot understand “The Mighty Men Movement”. Why would God separate the men from the woman. This is not the GOD I know. I have spoken out about my feelings which never go down well amongst believers. I am unsure of him and I shall listen to that quiet voice in my spirit.

  13. blank louise says:

lOL listen I must tell you I am self employed and I had to ask GOD to supply all my needs according to his riches as all I do is bury myself in his word. I am not unwise, I shall soon go back into the world and work.

  14. blank Dan Chen says:

FAO: – Critisizers – You know what? You really should get a life, if you have an issue and you half the nerve that you should have then go to Bonke in the meeting and ask him this directly instead of being a woosey and hiding behind a lame forum and arguing with people who do believe the word and the whole word. Get real! Get Saved. Finally, may the Lord show you His light, of and BTW i would advise don’t try and tempt God, you might not like it.

  15. blank Elmarie A says:

    Dan Chen
This blog is not hidden in any way.

Nooo Bonke is a no no and I would stay away from him if I where you. Run and Run from people like him.

No one and I repeat no one is able to raise anyone from the dead but God alone at his will alone, and no man can set the time and place like Reinhard Bonnke claims that is just so so demonic!!

  16. blank Robbie says:

    Dan, Karen and Ola,

Everybody here at DTW has copied and pasted the same verses – SCRIPTURE – over and over again.

Those who claim Jesus Christ will appear physically are speaking empty words.
Ephesians 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.

‘An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign’, (Matt.12:38)

Matt. 24:23-27 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect— if that were possible.

I pray the truth catches your eyes, anchors in your hearts and that you start discerning and reading Gods’ Word yourselves.

  17. Dan Chen

Will you pay for our air fair? We would like to fly first class too please. Rehinard Bonnke has been in ministry long enough to have had MANY people speak to him in person. Btw, do you have proof he raised this boy from the dead? I bet you don’t.

  18. blank Johnson says:

Those who argue against the truth are liers. SImply agents of darkness, Elmarie, Louise, Deborah and many others hiding and addressing men of God. Judgement day is coming we shall know who is greater. Reinhard is proven and fearless preacher of the Gospel of Truth. His results are based on faith in Christ. I have attended 3 of Bonnke’s Crusades. They are un-doubtfully backed up by the power of God. Let me join Joe to say let God arise and let His enemies be scattered.

  19. Johnson

    >> Reinhard is proven and fearless preacher of the Gospel of Truth. His results are based on faith in Christ.

Oh really Can you supply some proof of a genuine situation where a person was raised from the dead? I can supply proof where Reinhard was BUST outright about lying about someone who he claimed he raised from the dead, who never died to begin with.

Let’s have a race shall we to see who comes up with the proof for both sides of the story first. But you know what Johnson, I am such a nice person I am going to give you a head start. Take your time… don’t rush ok. I don’t want to put any pressure on you. You have 6 months to supply us with 100% verifiable medial proof of someone raised from dead. And seeing that you can vouch for Reinhard, I am sure you will have no trouble at all showing the whole world the solid proof of such great miracles.

  20. blank Elmarie A says:

    Johnson

They are un-doubtfully backed up by the power of God

Nope that can only be power from Satan. Please read the complete articles at links provided and think again about what you are saying.

Proof for you that Bonke is well known for his heresies all over the world.

The Rich mans prayer is answered!

    Reinhard Bonnke raises the dead.

Can God raise the dead? Yes of course He can. However the question we need to ask is, did He on this occasion? I’m talking about the newest sensational story coming from Reinhard Bonnke who was a guest on Benny Hinn’s program on Feb.28 2002 (and Kenneth Copeland’s program through the week of Aug.19, 2002). On Hinn’s program he showed a video produced by Cfan (Bonnkes minsitry- Christ for all nations) and gave testimony to a man being raised from the dead at a church he was preaching at in Nigeria Africa. This video is now making the rounds everywhere as a fulfillment of many peoples prophecies of the great miracles that are supposed to occur in our time. Stories are supposedly pouring in from around the globe of thousands being saved. This is becoming a big story, but is it a fish story that keeps on growing as it’s told. I’ll let you decide.

Before I look at what was said on this program, we need to go back a few years. It appears that there have been many people dying at Reinhard Bonnke’s crusade not once but numerous times. Not one person was raised from the dead. These are only a few incidents cited.

    Benny Hinn’s program of Feb.28, 2002

On Hinn’s program with his guest Rienhard Bonnke, Hinn began by holding up Impact magazine with the headlines of one of Africas newspapers “Bonnke raises man from death in Initsha” (Impact is the publication of Reinhard Bonnke). Hinn says to Bonkke, “we’ve been talking about it, its happening,” as if this is the beginning of what they have been promising, a time of miracles.

The story is that Bonnke went to a friend’s church to open a new church building (Kingdom life world evangelism) attended by 12,000 people. He was preaching unaware that a hearse with a corpse in a coffin came in downstairs. After he prayed upstairs the dead man downstairs suddenly came to life.

Bonnke stated to Hinn “The wife of that dead man said God gave her a scripture (in the book of Hebrews [11:35]) that woman receive their dead back again by faith and she would not allow her husband to be buried because she believes that where Reinhard Bonnke preaches the anointing is so powerful that the rising from the dead would be possible, now I’m quoting her.”

She speaks of bringing her dead husband to Bonnke to be raised, but if it was God who raised the dead he would not need to be brought to him. She talks about her dead husband being brought to Bonnke because he would be around a great anointing. What about all these others who have died being around this anointing at his crusades? Why were they not raised?

As Bonnke said to Hinn “with all the details I don’t have time to mention.” Well a story is in the details, and we will look at them carfully.

    (18) Reinhard Bonnke – Unbiblical Teachings And Actions by Sandy Simpson, DITC, 10/02
This article consists of quotes from a number of different sources. These quotes and accounts are offered as proof the Reinhard Bonnke has been teaching heresy and promoting a false transferable anointing for many years. He is an ecumenist, teaches prosperity doctrines, says every Christian must speak in tongues as a sign of the “baptism” of the Spirit, claims that faith is a force, and preaches a gospel devoid of the power to save. He has also lied about healings and dead raising.

  21. Johnson

I am sorry I forgot to tell you that although we gave you 6 months to come up with proof that Bonke really is a godly man, we did managed to find proof he is as false as a Mona Lisa painting from China. We do however ask that you keep looking for the proof to prove that he did in fact raise someone/anyone from the dead.

  22. blank grace2luv says:

I would say the burden of proof lies with you. Can you prove that a child was not raised from the dead? Just because you choose to not believe it does not mean it didn’t happen. How many people have you brought to salvation? What is the purpose of your blog? To attack Christians?

  23. grace2luv

hahahaha, that was a funny comment. Anyhow…

Do you like to brag about your achievements? Well I don’t because I do not save people, nor do I bring anyone to salvation. And thanks for attacking me – you should change your name to ‘doublestandards’

  24. grace’doublestandards’4luv

Just to reiterate. Bonnke has been exposed before for lying – if you READ my article properly you will see that the dead person he raised a few years ago came forward and confessed.
